  1. Because if you leave, we'll curse your throwing arm like we did Knoblauch's. http://peterandsharda.com/wp-includes/Text/dr.-evil-laugh-gif-i16.gif
  2. I agree he should be shopped in the offseason, since the team has more pressing needs than 2B. The return would have to be worthy of an All-Star player in his prime, though.
  3. Yeah, I'm good with trading Dozier, provided the return is substantial (the 2016 equivalent of Liriano, Nathan, and Bonser would suit me fine).
  4. If consistency (as you define it) is so necessary, then why would any other team want him? How is it possible to "sell high" on a guy who is only good one month a year (and who won't even have that good month "one of these times")? It seems like the return for that guy would be pretty minimal.
  5. To be fair, Grossman's July was very good (.402 OBP, .278 AVG, .750 OPS). He has a .343 OBP in about 900 career AB, and he's likely not yet entered his "prime" years. There's room for him on this team.
  6. "I don't think you talk about this nearly enough," said Sarcastic Guy.
  7. Nah, I'd just change it to Polanco's Glorious Hair. I'm actually good with Dozier being traded, provided we got a decent return.
  8. I have a question for the "TRADE DOZIER" contingent: Do you want him gone because you think we would get a good return for him or do you just want him gone? What I mean is, if the only trade offer for Dozier ended up being for Jim Hoey and Brett Jacobson (or their 2016 equivalent), do you pull the trigger on that particular trade?
  9. The point is that Nunez's 1st half numbers are All-Star caliber. I merely cited his projected full-season stats to better illuminate just how good his current numbers are. As for Nunez being the catalyst for future 90-loss seasons, I'm just simply going to strongly disagree and leave it at that.
  10. Harsh. If a leadoff hitter posts a stat line of .321 AVG / 22 HR / 74 RBI / 41 SB (which is what Nunez is currently on pace for), I'd say most would call those "All-Star caliber" numbers.
  11. "Baseball's hard, guys. I mean, it really is. You can love it but, believe me, it don't always love you back. It's kind of like dating a German chick, you know?" - Morris Buttermaker
  12. Totally. http://image.stirileprotv.ro/media/images/original/Jun2012/60581834.jpg
  13. The Dodgers actually really like Fien. I knew we shouldn't have given up on him.
  14. I just got off the phone with the Dodgers GM. Dozier for Kershaw is a no-go, I'm afraid. I'll keep trying, though.
  15. Eh, this seems to me like reaching for excuses for why Dozier is hitting again. The reality is that his numbers are simply rising to meet his normal level. His OPS stats the past three seasons (including this one) are .757, .751, .761. Can anybody really look at those numbers and say he's NOT a .750 OPS guy? That's what he is, folks. Nobody should be surprised that his OPS didn't stay in the .620 range.
  16. The hair has been a problem this season, but at least he's still trying. Mauer seems to have just given up. Remember this guy? http://cdn29.us1.fansshare.com/images/joemauer/joe-mauer-mn-twins-mlb-hair-646035237.jpg Frickin' glorious!
  17. And yet people seem ready to tar and feather 25-year-old Danny Santana for his numbers. If Arcia gets to be in the "he's young, so he gets a pass" club, then it's only fair that the less-experienced Santana gets to hang out there too.
