    Funny thing is that this is literally the difference between me being able to get Dairy Queen after a game or not. I usually miss closing time by 15 to 20 minutes. It's frustrating, to say the least.

    Is basketball more exciting because of the shot clock? Would you prefer that a team just dribble around for 5 minutes and not put up a single shot? The objective is still the same either way. Is football more exciting because of a play clock? Would you prefer that the offensive team just sit in the huddle for 2 minutes and not snap the ball? The objective is still the same either way. Having to endure an extra 10 to 20 seconds between something that happens 200 to 300 times per game has a cumulative effect. And it's completely unnecessary.

      Well, I first typed out that they were taking the wins train through Detroit until I realized that it was actually a home series, so I showed some restraint.  I'm hoping the humility is taken into account by the Baseball Gods.

    I'm confident in them to the point where I think they should win the division. Beyond that, not nearly as confident. They were outclassed by both the Dodgers and Astros by quite a wide margin. People can point to small sample size, but that's exactly what a playoff series is.

    Before the season, I said that this team will go as far as the younger players will take them. So far, I think that's proven to be true, particularly in the pitching department. Still a lot of season left, but early returns are looking good. It'll be interesting to see how Chicago pushes this team the rest of the way. And while the bullpen has been better than advertised, it's been a rollercoaster at times too. It would be nice if that could get solidified.

    Regardless of who you are, buckle your apparently nonexistent seat belts, you two! The wheels on this bus could fall off at any time, but I'm optimistic that he'll continue to be a pretty good 4th outfielder at worst.

    Plus, it's not like the game itself is on a clock. It'll still take as long as it needs to take to complete 9 innings. It only cuts down on the unnecessary downtime, that's all.

    Cardinals put up only 18 runs on the Pirates this afternoon. Much different game so far in KC.
