  1. This one will be live for me, televised for you. Wind is really blowing out to left today. Hopefully that means a few long balls … for us, not them. Go Twins!
  2. They had him pitching in games before the 60-day would have been up. But even if they can’t, okay; and I get pay and service time issues, too, but they put Lewis on the 60-day so they aren’t unwilling and could with Canterino if there was good reason. All I’m suggesting is they do have this option so I’m not panicked about 40-man issues just yet. Let ST play out. They don’t need to make those decisions on non-rostered guys until the season starts. And if they add someone else not in camp it will likely come as a trade.
  3. I don’t think they ever put Enlow on the 60-day last year. That’s the difference here.
  4. I didn’t say remove him from the 40-man, but once he is on the 60-day IL that opens up a spot on the 40-man. They did that recently when they moved Lewis to the 60-day to add a RP. And Paddock is on the 60-day. Count the roster … there are 42 people, but 2 are on the 60-day. They can move Canterino to the 60-day and that opens a spot
  5. They can, and likely will, move Canterino to the 60-day, when they can option him to AAA.
  6. Because their ST stadium and complex was badly damaged in the hurricane
  7. I followed, just didn’t participate. Thinking up adventures to take my rental car on.
  8. Well, it won’t happen if you don’t believe
  9. For all of you complaining about too much video, you can exit here 🙂 The Twins put out this video, and it seems it’s going to be a series. But here’s the first installment. Gets me so excited for the season!
  10. Things in Fort Myers are just plain expensive this year. You may have to go further out. Because of the hurricane and the destruction of Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel and places near there, many residents are still displaced who are now renting many places that would go to monthly visitors in ‘normal’ times. And there is such a high demand still for construction workers and related subcontractor work, it’s been a slow process getting homes and condos back to habitable. My Mom’s place went through a remediation process that was just completed a few weeks ago and now begins reconstruction. In turn, there then has seen a higher need for hotel rooms since the usual condo rental market is tight. It’s the basic concept of ‘supply and demand’ at play here this year. You may have to go further away to find a rental or hotel within the range you mentioned.
  11. I’m not exactly sure what you mean anymore. You say the forums, yet I’ve very clearly stated that the Front Page News forum is not really a forum that operates in the same way the other forums do. If what you want to suggest is more organization of what articles are written, when so there are not so many of the same articles, then yes, that is specifically an owner question. However, you are in the minority when it comes to big, breaking news or stories such as all the articles and forum posts we had about Correa. The data showed that most readers could not get enough on Correa and it was big news how that all went down making it a pretty wild off season, so all the articles written and published on that was very intentional. As for the regular forums, like the Twins Talk forum, yes, we do take great strides to streamline the threads that get started there, with the exception I noted about the rumors function, which was new and now something we need to tweak. So, I’ve explained, this is how it is. If an owner wants to step in and discuss the process of how it’s decided on what gets written and when, then they will. But the rest just feels a bit … overly picky
  12. While I think we can agree that this isn’t a WS team, and as I stated I think we are an 85 win team, I think this team IS better than last year. Even without Mahle, should his shoulder act up, the starting depth is better than relying on Archer and Bundy. Heck, even if our depth as a 6th starter were one of them, that’s better than what we rolled with last year. Farmer and Solano as depth in the infield is better than what we rolled with last year. Gallo and Taylor are better than Cave and the others we had to go with in the OF. It’s a better team, even if only by a 5-game margin, it’s a better team. And yes, the Twins were one of I think 3 or 4 teams that had significant injuries, it did play a roll. I think you are trying to understate that impact to push a narrative here.
  13. You are always free to find a website that does things as you wish them to be
  14. Or, he could have truly just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. That happens, too, probably just as often, but we’re only human and have tendencies to focus on the more salacious. Let’s just hope he heals, gets back to it, and has a really great year
  15. I’d worry, too, if that were against lefties … still concerned with our offense, but think it’s trending in the right direction. Time will tell, and when it does, I hope I’m enjoying it!
  16. Geeeeeeez … a 2-minute video clip and with the comments here you’d think every offering is video. I don’t know about you all, but I can’t get through every written article and every written comment, so I appreciate a 2-minute clip from time to time. Podcasts are a different thing. Those I don’t always have time for because they are waaaaaaay longer. Some users like the video, so there is video on the site. But there is and will always be way more written word to read. Get over it already. @John Bonnes and @Nick Nelson, thank you for all the ST coverage in whatever format you deliver it for those of us who can’t be there … although I was fortunate to be there for a bit and am returning on Friday … but you guys have the access and give us way more info. Thank you!
  17. That was his line against righties …. This was the quote: ‘ if he's not at least holding his own against righties. Last year he slashed just .235/.291/.320 against them.’
  18. I think last year I put the team at about 80 wins. This year I say 85. I’m still concerned with the BP. I don’t see enough there. And I am still concerned with the offense. I think we have guys who can hit, same as last year, but they need to hit. I think we finally have some depth, good depth, with our SP. Never thought I’d say that. Hopefully that takes the load off the BP some. The optimist in me thinks this team has the potential to win 90+ if the offense starts connecting and a couple of our pitchers really have great years, but the realist says 85. I think I’m going to enjoy watching them this year and am really looking forward to the season starting, and that’s not something I could’ve said last year or the year before.
  19. Yeah, you aren’t alone. There are several here who want to believe the worst of Balazovic. Likely we will never know the details. I just hope he comes out of this wiser and gets his pitching back on track.
  20. Possibly. But it is an ongoing investigation and they are looking for the guy who threw the punch who ran out and they have yet to find. Why run? Why hide? According to Balazovic he was sucker punched. Maybe the guy thought he was someone else? And maybe there was a verbal relay there? And of course people can choose a violent route, but I don’t think that is the answer. I never said you can’t escalate a situation verbally. What I said is that I’m glad he didn’t respond in kind and escalate the situation that way. still context missing, but maybe we need to see the end of the investigation before coming to conclusions.
