    I didn’t say they were going to lose, just that I wouldn’t pick them as the favorites against about 5-6 other teams in the American league. This is baseball, anyone can win a 3 game series. By this logic, the rangers are better than the twins, they just beat us 2/3. So did Arizona.

    The games in April and May count just the same, but playing 4 games under over the last almost 50 games (22-26) is more than a blip. The high water mark was 27-16, so we’ve now had essentially a Jekyll and Hyde season. Some of those top 10 rankings will undoubtedly look worse unless the ship is righted

    Meh, they did play well against the rays, but they split with Boston way back in April, took 4/7 from seattle and only had a 3 gamer against Toronto so far. That’s like saying the reds and pirates are as good as the Yankees because they’ve split their games.

    I can agree with that. just thinking the complete absence of a bullpen and now apparently almost all the starting pitchers has to put us below any teams like Boston and Toronto. We’d be underdogs in a 3 game playoff series with either of those teams

    They aren’t terrible, just merely average. I’d say they’re probably the 6th or 7th best team in the American League. And if Baltimore keeps it up, they might be 8th 1 NYY 2 HOU 3 TB 4 TOR 5 BOS 6/7 coin toss seattle minnesota

    Then again, the reds and Yankees are tied in the 9th after splitting the first two games…Yankees daily is probably melting down

    Best thing that could happen right now is for the Sox to get hot and pass us out. Unless you’re a glutton for more playoff disappointment, that is. I can’t even come up with a 3 game series playoff rotation I feel confident in. it’s shocking how well we’ve played against some of the better teams, which I guess is the only reason to have confidence in a playoff series.

    Because you said you would save me the time of looking them up myself so I was curious and thought I’d ask. Perhaps your stat gathering ends with that one very specific stat?

    ok, where do they rank with all RISP stats? Where do they rank with bases loaded? Where do they rank with RISP and 2 outs? Looks like we’re 4th from the bottom in the productive out stat. Nobody out and a runner at 2nd, we’re third from the bottom in advancing the runner.

    That is absolutely pathetic. One of the fastest guys in the league at third with no outs and we can’t put a ball in play well enough to bring him in. Utterly awful
