  1. Pretty disappointing for a guy looking to have a comeback season.
  2. If Polanco stays with the Twins through the end of his contract that just means something serious happened with Correa or the three prospects that would take over his spot (Lewis, Lee or Martin). Assuming Correa stays healthy, Lee and Lewis should be forcing the Twins hand by the end of this season to take over 3rd or 2nd base and potentially both.
  3. I don't understand his take on where Lewis will play. He's athletic enough to play 2nd, 3rd, potentially SS and all three outfield positions. If he continues where he left off last season, the Twins will find a position for him or they'll trade him to a team that needs him.
  4. Such an odd article that is pure speculation.... Obviously, they know more about their players health than the general public but that doesn't mean there are any serious health issues. They traded Arraez to Miami because he doesn't have a defensive position, he has bad knees / legs, he was at peak value, and they have several options of prospects coming up through the minors who appear to be better overall players. Kiriloff if he can stay health is a much more prototypical 1st baseman. Taller, more athletic, heft handed and hits for more power. Add in Edouard Julien, Brooks Lee and Royce Lewis and the infield is becoming crowded.
  5. I can't imagine he'll be pitching in the MLB this season.
  6. Zero reason to give up on him as a starter. Give him at least half the season to show what he can do and if he's still not producing moving him to the bullpen in July and see if he could be a September call up.
  7. At this point I'd rather the Twins just play the rookies this season and get them experience. The Twins have a solid starting pitching staff with Mahle, Gray, Ryan, Ober, Winder, Maeda and Paddock at some point and a much deeper bullpen than they did at the start of last season. If it goes downhill trade off the aging vets: Gray, Maeda, Pagan, Polanco and Kepler. By the end of the season the position players should be as follows: 1st: Arraez or Kiriloff 2nd: Edouard Julien 3rd: Miranda / Lee SS: Lewis Left: Larnach / Gordon Center: Buxton / Gordon Right: Kiriloff / Wallner DH: Arraez / Miranda There will be injuries and ineffectiveness, but playing the rookies should give the front office an idea of where the roster is moving forward.
  8. ha ha. The front office is just grasping at straws now.
  9. I'm bummed there won't be any baby blues going forward but I like all of the tops. I don't love the stripe down the side of the grey pinstripes and like a lot of people the M hats are terrible. They look exactly like the Miami M hats.
  10. No. The Twins don't need more over the hill redemption tour players. Spend the money on legit free agents or make trades for good players. They have plenty of 3-5 starting pitchers and need an ace. They have plenty of outfielders they need to try and give at bats to. Buxton, Kepler, Larnach, Kiriloff (Maybe), Gordon, Walner and Celestino. Plus they might have guys like Austin Martin and Royce Lewis part way through the year. If the Twins sign a legit SS this offseason both Martin and Lewis become outfielders or tradable assets. Unless they're going to spend the money on legit upgrades for the outfield don't waste money on never has beens.
  11. Just more bargain hunting by the Twins. I wouldn't call a career OPS of .839 mashing when it's such a small sample size. He'll be 31 by the time the season starts and only has 186 plate appearances versus lefties.
  12. Go get Sean Murphy! Jeffers has only ever shown flashes of being good in the MLB but nothing sustained.
  13. I love baseball and love going to games but I can honestly say I haven't been to a Twins game since 2019 and I'm glad I haven't wasted my money on the garbage Falvine has put out onto the field.
  14. I know this comment doesn’t belong in this forum but my god have ads absolutely ruined this website. There are so many pop ups and and videos that play every time you scroll down. I have to exit some new ad 10 times just trying to read an article.
  15. I have zero interest in seeing a lot of advanced stats during a game. Really the only stats I'd care to see are pitch velocity and exit velocity off the bat. I don't want to see a bunch of arrows all over the screen showing where the ball is being thrown across the diamond and how fast it is compared to the baserunner. Additional information provides zero value. The game of football is a much faster sport with receivers and running backs lined up all over the field running various routes. It can be difficult to track the play at times. Baseball is very much more stationary. Pitcher throwing to home plate and hitter running in one direction if they get a hit.
  16. So, again a starting pitcher was taken out of the game after only 79 pitches and would have started the 7th inning against AAA players who're batting 8th, 9th....
  17. I hope the product tanks. MLB and NHL need to find another company to work with for broadcasting games.
  18. Not winning a playoff game in how many years? Being awful last season. Twins aren't on TV for me (youtube.tv) so I just forget about them. I can see the Twins easily falling out of the playoff race once they start facing teams that are actually good.
  19. He played his last game on September 21. The Angels were 6.5 games out of the playoffs with 5ish games left to play. From what I read he cleared out his locker and texted the coaching staff and then just left and gave the pandemic as the reason. I get these are strange times but if you're nervous about the pandemic why not opt out at the beginning of the season? What has changed his mind now a few months later when the US is actually in a worse spot than it was in September? To me, he realized the Angels weren't going to make the playoffs and decided to pack up and leave.
  20. Hopefully he doesn't quit on the Twins like he did the Angels last year once their chance of reaching the playoffs was basically zero.
  21. How did the top relief pitchers from 2016, 2017 and 2019 do? Just because there was 1 season where the top relief pitchers signed didn't do well doesn't mean you shouldn't try to bolster the bullpen. I'm not saying the Twins should sign any of these relief pitchers to long term deals and I doubt any of them will get deals longer than 3 years. But going into next year hoping Rogers rebounds and then just bringing up a bunch of young guys it's likely to be a recipe for success.
  22. The Falvine offseason bullpen signings could be described in two words...dumpster diving.... It'd be nice to see the Twins sign one of the top 5-6 relievers listed above.
