  1. Glad to see each of the Lookout All Stars do what they do best. Sano needs to play defense like that every game. He will be that SUPER STAR for sure. Polanco can just hit. Kepler did a masterful job of getting on base via the BB and took some decent swings. Walker could have easily had 3 hits, but was denied on a couple of bang bang plays. He totaled more home runs than the entire home run derby participants COMBINED. Berrios was La Machine. Baxendale threw something like 6 to 8 pitches to get out of his inning (masterful). Zach Jones showed why he should be the closer of the future (2 up & 2 down). Chattanooga was well represented. It was fun watching our guys on TV and listening to all the high praise for each.
  2. Trade Santana to Phillies along with a marginal top prospect (Duffy; or Jones; or Bard) and get Hamels. You can then use Hamels in the playoffs (thinking big) and would only increase your budget slightly.
  3. Only Twin Prospect voted Mid-season, Post-season, and Organizational All Star in last 2 1/2 years. Just making a point. Point being - League managers and Twins front office personnel respect his overall game based on production. Production is what carries All Star teams at every level and even Hall of Fame votings. Please don't jump on the Hall of Fame part. Just making a point. Point being - PRODUCTION DOES MATTER Walkers production has been an organizational best for years. His AA start is his best to date. Every point on this thread is about what he probably won't be able to do at the next level. Just making a point. Point being - If you see a UFO, is it really a UFO? If you don't believe in UFO's, the answer will be No regardless to what you see. Walkers is that UFO and regardless to what you see (production) - He does leave room for reasonable doubt. For me - I'm going to trust my eyes and his production consistency.
  4. I believe that Walker will improve in time. Walker has moved up a level at the end of each year without the familiarity of knowing a league coming in. Walker has never earned a promotion mid season nor been able to draw back from his familiarity of a league to improve in the off season. Walker and a few of his teammates have had to learn a league from April to July and watch the better pitchers in the league leave mid season - Thus having to learn the league again as they greet an influx of new pitchers across the league. When Walker finally makes it to the Show, I will be more excited to see what he does in his second and third year after he gets to know / learn his final level. What he does best is win. He and his teammates won with the Buxton's and Polanco's on their team and they won without the Buxton's and Polanco's on their team. I wouldn't be afraid to try him this year (MLB) and ride his potential until he falters. He has to be use to people doubting him his whole career. Doubters don't seem to stop this kid from doing his thing and doing it well. I believe Walker will prevail long term. Like Bruno Mars says - "Don't Believe Me Just Watch"
  5. Walker hit an off speed pitch yesterday over a 24 foot wall that has not landed yet. Unique is a good word for him.
  6. He's not slumping, just cooling off. He still has that sweet swing which will continue to spray balls in the alleys. Better to cool off when you're hitting .348 and regain your form, than when you were hitting .275 and fall off. Kepler will hit. Like Polanco his swing is tight and right.
  7. ABW leads the Twins minor league and the entire minor leagues in homers. When is the last time the Twins had that happen.
  8. ABW is tied for minor league lead in home runs with Jon Singleton @ 14. http://www.wdef.com/content/sports/localsports/story/Adam-Brett-Walker-Slams-Two-Homers-But-Lookouts/vL0xJdNTMEGy0IpwT2C7mw.cspx outfielder barely moved
  9. I watched the Lookouts this weekend and was very impressed with the overall talent there. Though they struggled offensively in a couple of games, they still played with a presence of confidence. Kepler played OF once and looked solid., Boy can he swing that bat. Incredible hitting series. He was the best player on the field during this series at the plate. Buxton squared the ball up several times and I can't imagine anyone in baseball running faster than him. He can fly. He didn't attempt to steal bases as much as I thought he might. Harrison was decent in the OF defensively, but seemed to be a better bat. He hit around shifts and drives the ball all around the field. A Doubles machine. Walker really struggled offensively, but seemed to be a lot more disciplined with his zone. He took a few BB & was called out looking several times on some questionable called strikes. Most of them on 3-2 counts. He didn't routinely chase pitches like I was told. CHEMISTRY & COMMUNICATION This group of outfielders seem to play with a chemistry on defense. They cover for each other well and communicate clearly (knock on wood). Buxton tracked down several balls that would have been extras if it were anyone else out there. Walker made two outstanding plays. One game ending catch high against the wall in LF and the other was a leaping catch that only a 6'4" athlete could have made. His vertical looks comfortable and with purpose. Harrison made some nice diving attempts during the series, but came up short on most of them. He does have the right mentality for the position. Kepler played 1B most of the series, but you could see his athleticism as he turned singles into doubles. The future is bright for the Twins OF. Loved watching these kids enjoy the game with each other. No one big times anyone. They just love winning and it shows. Also impressive for a future Twins OF: *Buxton leads entire minors in triples (9) - 18 of 39 hits are XBH (46%) *Walker leads all of AA in homers (10) - 19 of 34 hits are XBH (55%) *Harrison leads Southern League in doubles (14) - 16 of 38 hits are XBH (42%) *Kepler is top hitter on Lookouts thru May - 13 of 32 hits are XBH (41%)
