  1. Stop it, Jinxie. "If Cleveland were able to sweep Los Angeles and Minnesota lost three to Washington, the division lead could be down to 2.5 games entering next weekend." Although this is not an unlikely scenario. Possibly the most likely with the mounting Twins injuries and Pineda debacle. Still, don't say it out loud.
  2. I think these lyrics by the great Metallica as somewhat appropriate here, "Good day. How do? And I send a smile to you Don't waste, waste your breath And I won't waste my hate on you Waste my hate on you" Big Mike messed up.
  3. If the Twins take one of three I will breathe easier. This shapes up as a "moral victory" type of series if they can win one and stay close in the others.
  4. Maybe when/if Duffey gets more high leverage opportunities (and produces positive results) then he will get more recognition. Your friend bashing on Duffey probably remembers a high leverage or two breakdown from Duffey and not much else.
  5. La Tortuga as a fullback and NFL folk hero on kickoff and punt return coverage teams.
  6. Wasn't it just a year ago that both Sano and Buxton were on the outside looking in?
  7. The homestand where the Twins were going to make hay while the sun was shining has taken off to a 1-3 thud. When do they push the panic button on Berrios and make some tweaks?
  8. It was a boring game to attend. Watching the other team's pitcher dominate is not fun in my book. I know we are supposed to be good baseball fans and carry on about how great pitching is more entertaining than good hitting. Maybe so and 1-0 pitcher's duel can be entertaining - that I agree with. Getting your doors blown off with no exciting plays is a drag. Oh well, a day at the ballpark is still better than being at the office.
  9. It sure is nice to see that green line on the leverage index moving toward the Twins side. It seems like every recap in recent memory trended the opposite direction.
  10. The Atlanta baseball team and the Cleveland baseball team both need to change those disgusting team names.
  11. Injury not yet healed as many have mentioned. Fewer have mentioned effort and attitude. I love Eddie and his confidence bordering on arrogance. However, I do not approve of the unsound fundamentals in the outfield. Maybe it's because I was in the left field bleachers for the drop against the Mets and booed Eddie that day.
  12. After the day off yesterday, it's just nice to not have to read about the trade deadline and get some substance about on the field matters.
  13. Right. The other guys practice and get paychecks, too. If this was a 5 or 7 game playoff series against the A's and the Twins had home field advantage, the Twins would be in the captain's chair.
  14. Liam Hendriks unhittable and hitting 100 on the radar gun?! Now, Cleveland has cut the Twins division lead to 3 games. I guess scenarios like this make the game fun. These two really sting right now, though.
  15. No. I have plenty of slack for all parents. You need to enjoy them while they are young and not sweat the small things. Although, a seasoned parent would know it is darn near impossible to zip up a onesie to the top when it is inside out. You sound like you aren't a parent. I thought maybe the picture was transposed.
  16. The bank account and mental health say otherwise: 6 children, the oldest is 22 and the youngest is 6. Why is looking for details the sign of not having children?
  17. Things are alright, thanks for the perspective. Really, a 4 game divisional lead isn't half bad.
  18. Mental errors, laziness, and not hustling are luxuries this team (really no team) can afford if you want to achieve greatness. I am glad Eddie got back on the horse and atoned for yesterday's sins.
  19. I wanted to request a refund when Rosario didn't run out a ground ball an inning or two after dropping that routine fly ball.
  20. That's the essence of being a fan of men's professional sports teams in this town.
  21. How does the changed baseball impact the pitched ball? If it travels farther when hit, does that also mean the pitchers can throw it harder, faster, with more break, etc.?
