  1. Nailed it. We have to go off what we know right now, and we know Duffey’s stuff is not right to be a high leverage arm. It’s possible he has 5-6 shut down appearances in a row and gets back on track. If I knew how to predict reliever performance I’d be making boat loads of money for an MLB team.
  2. As we’ve seen time and time again, relievers are the most fickle position in baseball. Their fall from grace happens in an instant because they are the kings of SSS. Duffey’s been losing FB velocity gradually since his peak in 2019. Showing that he’s entirely hittable without 94 MPH gas. Duffey takes the heat tonight, rightfully so. However, lost in this recap is Archer melting down, only to be saved by Joe Smith getting out his 2nd bases loaded jam in recent days. It sure would be nice to see Joe Smith complete a full inning sometime. Perhaps allowing him to throw double digit pitches in an outing.
  3. Whelp. You’ve got to win these series against bottom feeding teams… And the Royals know this.
  4. Perhaps Jeffers shouldn’t have swung at the very first pitch. This dude has no idea where the ball is going when it leaves his hand.
  5. Someone didn’t change the programmed commercial cut aways at the CW studios… I imagine some poor sap is sitting there hitting an override button every time it happens.
  6. If our bench was 5-6 players deep, there’s room for a LHP hitting specialist. When we’re running 3-4 player benches, it’s not ideal.
  7. We’ll I’ll be damned. Kepler hit it to the left side of the field.
  8. Looks like I chose the wrong time to check into this game with the Wolves down by 20…
  9. I wouldn’t be opposed to shrinking the schedule even more. 100-120 game regular season with a hard stop on August 31. Leaving September to be a “March Madness” type playoff system. The WS champion crowned by the first week in October. As they continue to expand the number of playoff teams, the regular season will become less important.
  10. If this is the type of content you want to give front page access to and promote on your social media channels, more power to you. I see the replies already on Twitter. Low effort articles will result in low effort, snark replies. The same direction Buzzfeed took and the reason for their decline. I’ve said my piece about this particular author in the Questions section of Twins Daily. There are better authors to support on this site and I won’t contribute to this particular one moving forward. Thanks for your reply.
  11. It’s sad you feel like this is good content. Twins Daily is inching closer and closer to being Buzzfeed.
  12. Yeah, I wonder if MLBPA regrets not negotiating for a floor. Oakland made no secrets pre-lockout they were going to cut $50 million from their payroll. And proceeded forward with the plan after the lockout. Once they offload Montas their payroll will be less than $30 million. Bad look for the league to have 100x difference between the highest and lowest payroll.
  13. Let’s hear it. Mine is the death of the SP does more damage to baseball than 3 true outcomes, slow pace of play, and dramatic shifts combined.
  14. The madness could begin as early as #1 overall if Jacksonville doesn’t pick Aidan Hutchinson. If they pick him, no one knows what Detroit is doing at 2. Gonna be a wild draft for sure.
  15. This time of year isn’t nearly as slow as after the draft to training camp time. At least now we have draft chatter. But I’m getting tired of speculating and want to fast forward to next Thursday!
  16. This tweet was posted before today’s game but it opened my eyes that we're starting off slower than 2016, which was the most painful season in a long time. It’s amazing we’re not 1-9 right now. The starting pitching has really kept it together.
  17. I guess we’re not the only team who lets relievers hang out to dry. 50 pitches for their reliever?
  18. Settle down big fella. A timely splinker for a double play would be nice here.
  19. All he had to do was walk the runner back to 3rd and tag him since the other players advanced to 2nd and 3rd base.
  20. The umps need to take a class from NFL referees. Have some pizazz when you’re on the mic!
