  1. Agreed, we seem to have the same viewpoint of managers. Honestly I don't care all that much about Molitor being fired. There's certainly an expiration date for all managers delivering the same message year after year. I do find it ironic that he was blamed for various things this season such as: - Wearing out bullpen arms - Not developing players - Submitting bad lineups - Not reminding TD members we were supposed to pick up milk on our way home from work And now that we're in this spot, and people who complained all season long has an outlet to give their opinion who is a better candidate are no where to be found.
  2. Funny how everyone had an opinion about firing Molitor, but no one has a definitive opinion about the replacements. It's almost like we don't have a way to quantify who is a good manager.
  3. Meet the new Gophers starting RT Daniel Faalele. True freshman, 6'9", 396 lbs. Terrifying. Humans should not be this big. https://www.si.com/college-football/2017/03/07/daniel-faalele-img-academy-recruiting
  4. In general, we can not continue to operate out of fear that someone else will pick up X player and turn them into a stud. It's not healthy for an organization and results in keeping players that will never really contribute for the team.
  5. If Pineda isn't healthy and can't be relied on it's a terrible signing. He was on pace to pitch a little in September until he tore his meniscus. Nothing that should affect him long term. 2019 was always the play for him. I'm expecting him to be in the MLB rotation or bullpen.
  6. $6-7 million would be buy low IMO. But if there's a bidding war I could see 3/$27
  7. Agreed. Something isn't adding up with either story, honestly. I don't know what kind of truck he drives in the DR but my truck (which is nothing special) has a backup camera and beeps frantically if I am within 3 feet of an object. One thing we shouldn't toss to the side: Sano has money and can use it to get out of trouble, especially in a country like the DR.
  8. Allen lost future money after every appearance this post season. Not to mention he was pretty bad throughout the regular season. Certainly a buy low candidate on a 1 year make good deal. 2 years tops.
  9. No doubt, there's more than one way to skin a cat over the course of 162 games. Step one, and the only step that really matters, is bringing in more talented players.
  10. Concur. There are a baker's dozen quantity of intriguing bullpen arms available this offseason. No excuse not to sign 3 of them.
  11. I'm not saying Sano needs to be a hermit at home and not have a life... But come on, man. After what he's been through over the last 12 months think about what you're doing. Being out at a club until 3 AM isn't smart.
  12. They need 3 bullpen signings, and at least 1 has to be a dominant arm. I would look to upgrade every "fringe" arm the Twins have. If there's any 40 man crunch problems, the first people I'd cut from the roster is Duffey, Busenitz, Curtiss, and Drake.
  13. They're just too young and inexperienced to compete this year. Fleck is a good recruiter bringing in good talent so far. Now we need to see if he can coach them up. Otherwise he'll be another Tim Brewster... I drank a little bit of the maroon and gold kool aid after the Fresno State win but I'm right back to my preseason prediction... They're going to have a hard time winning a big 10 conference game.
  14. That's network TV for you... I really enjoyed the show at first, but then it started to become the same problem/resolution week after week.
  15. In fairness his OPS vs. LH pitching was dreadful. You would think all of the positive underlying stats would translate to the stats on the back of his baseball card... Those numbers were worse this season.
  16. I would do nothing contract wise for all 3. Berrios has 4 more years of control left, and 4 more years to potentially get injured. Odorizzi is a fine back end of the rotation starter. Should be replaceable by an internal or external pitcher for a reasonable price. Gibson will be 31 in a couple of weeks, and given his roller coaster career, I need to see it one more season to be a Gibby believer. It's not like he's going to be a $20 million AAV pitcher if he maintains his level of play next season. The Twins can afford to gamble. The premium won't be that much if he is awesome next season.
  17. No doubt about it. That's their prerogative to do so. This firing feels different IMO. At the time when Gardy was fired I think we were all tired of him and ready to move on. There are some who were ready to move on from Molitor too, but I bet if we polled casual fans they would view this as a head scratcher... It can be argued he did better this year than last year given the circumstances... Regardless, we're all living in Falvine's World now. Hope they find what they're looking for to turn around this organization quickly.
  18. Take it with a grain of salt! I just happened to be listening at the time and those were my takeaways from what he said.
  19. LEN 3 on KFAN right now. His speculations... Molitor was blindsided from the news. Molitor taking another role with the Twins is corporate speak and can't see it happening. Candidate names he tossed out: Mark DeRosa, Grandpa David Ross And also talks about the thing we tend to forget about... Molitor was open and willing to work with this pair. Embracing the coaching staff they picked, analytical approaches, and the opener concept.
  20. Thought provoking posts? I think that's going to raise a red flag in HR when they read that...
  21. Zenser's Resume: 2008-Present: GM Minnesota Twins on MLB the Show 2004-2007: GM Minnesota Twins on MVP Baseball 2001-2004: GM Minnesota Twins on Triple Play Baseball You're hired!
  22. And it was a dramatic ordeal on this website when we learned Falvey or Levine didn't call Dougy Baseball to let him know his contract wasn't being renewed. Actually, that seems to be a trend with this duo. Not calling their current employees.
