  1. Pfffft! http://photos.gograph.com/thumbs/CSP/CSP862/k21447375.jpg
  2. Perkins will blow a save in the NFC ALCS to lose the series. All Minnesota fans will remember is that one blown save.
  3. If you watch games, buy tickets, eat at the ballpark, purchase merchandise, and pay taxes, sure it is your money. Not all of it, of course, but it isn't like this cash is coming out of a baseball trust fund from a long deceased donor.
  4. The Twins are in a 4 and 10 stretch since the postponed Red Sox game. They are fading fast.
  5. I have been stating for a few years that that Mauer should bat second. Without power, he should not bat third or cleanup.
  6. Seth, thanks for the update. When does Adam Brett Walker lose the "Saved by the Bell" third name and just become Adam Walker?
  7. Bingo! Keep him in AAA until he proves himself in all areas, and keep his service time down. Hicks did not pay his dues in AAA, and that showed. The Twins basically gave him service time in the Bigs when he should have been mastering his skills off the clock.
  8. That is one thing I have disliked about Gardy and the Twins; players come through the organization at one position, but the Twins try to have them learn a new position at AAA or the major league level. Of course, the players faulter.
  9. Punt on 2015? Yes, ... if it helps down the road. Getting these young players full time at bats, full games pitching, and field work is a priority. Keeping them from getting major league time earned toward free agency is a secondary factor.
  10. This roster is a joke, but do we want the youngsters up just to fill the stands? We do not want early free agency for players that do make it or players that are not ready being set back by bringing them up too soon. The combination would be a killer.
  11. This season was lost already. It was before Santana was suspended. Terry Ryan should not bring up the young players until they are ready. To do so would not only hamper their development, it would also give them more time at the major league level and allow them to become UFA more quickly. Is that what fans really want? Neither Santana nor Nolasco were worth the contracts they were given. The Twins needed an ace and a second starter, and they signed veteran third starters to second starter money. It was a waste of money to begin with, and now it looks even worse.
  12. The Twins are now stuck with his "doped" contract. The front office is doing a pretty poor job with these moster deals lately.
  13. I guarantee not all of these guys will pan out. That is why trading known major league players for low level prospects is a risky move.
  14. The Twins, with Gardenhire, wanted all of their players to hit the same way. That did not work out so well for Gomez or Hardy, and it did not work for David Ortiz either. When the Twins had Mount Crushmore, all of the hitters hit differently. Hrbek, Puckett, Brunansky, and Gaetti were all a change of pace at the plate. None of them were afraid to take a big swing with two strikes and players on base. Dan Gladden and Chili Davis hit differently too. Some of these players were pull hitters, some hit the other way, some protected the plate, and others let it rip. This is how Dan Gladden sees it, and I agree: http://blog.startribune.com/sports/randball/interesting-critique-of-the-twins-way-by-dan-gladden-on-tuesday-radio-broadcast
  15. I cussed the day David Ortiz was released. That kind of power does not come every day, and the Twins just gave up on him.
