  1. Thanks, I knew I was missing somebody! SD... This wasn't meant as reality, just a show of young arms! It's amazing that it is even possible after losing 3 young arms (Romero, Rosario and Landa) that were all top-30 prospects. TINSTAAPP is for real!
  2. I agree... Wouldn't you love to see CR compete for a playoff spot with a rotation of: Slegers Stewart Thorpe Hu Jorge
  3. Now that even Seth is saying that BA is over-rated, I was wondering if you could discuss where you would draw the line... Obviously, in the extreme of two players with an identical OBP of .360, the player who hits .360 with no walks is more valuable than the one who hits .240, but has a 12% walk rate (I know because of the AB/PA difference it would be higher than 12%, but the math escapes me at the moment). However, what if we compare a .300 hitter with that same .240 hitter who had the .360 OBP. In your opinions, at what OBP would the .300 hitter become more valuable? I understand the value of a walk in not creating an out, but I think the value of a hit is actually under appreciated nowadays. Walks never score a runner from second (and very frequently third), or move a runner from first to third. And if 30% of a #3 hitter's ABs occur with runners on base, a lot of opportunities for taking an extra base are missed by drawing a walk.
  4. I agree it would be amazingly bad, but you would have to imagine it is (nearly) the same throughout baseball. I would image that the top 10% of pitchers own 90% of all WAR. Does anyone know/think differently?
  5. Don't quite know where to put this, but... Stuifbergen is taking Alex Meyer's spot in the NB rotation tomorrow night. MiLB has Saturday and Sunday's starters as Darnell and Baxendale. Does anyone know whether this is just the 'normal' skip a ML pitchers turn in the rotation to keep their overall innings down? Or is it an injury (or promotion)?
  6. Goodrum and Michael at 21 and 22, respectively, but no love at all for the just-turned 19 Jorge Polanco?
