  1. If he'd hit in the spring he might be here. Expecting a kid who doesn't hit in the spring to make the big league club in April is ridiculous.
  2. Rocco's made it pretty obvious that he doesn't necessarily believe in the closer concept. However, if he does, I wish he'd send his starter out there for "one more" as much as he does his de facto closer.
  3. I'm excited to see him but willing to let him get a big league hit or two before I go overboard with the superlatives.
  4. I don't care if Cave is the best defender on the planet in left. If they have to use him it won't be enough.
  5. And I think letting him go was a mistake of epic proportions as well.
  6. Still the most entertaining hitter this team has had in decades.
  7. Hindsight is 20/20. There wasn't a fan in this state who disagreed with the Donaldson move a year ago, yourself included.
  8. With Simmons most likely headed for a bottom of the order spot in the lineup, the Twins need to replace the middle of the order bat left behind by Eddie Rosario and (potentially) Nelson Cruz still has yet to be addressed. COULD also bring back Eddie. Younger, maybe cheaper AND was our leading run producer each of the last 4 years.
  9. May well end up with the White Sox merely as a preemptive strike to cripple our lineup. I know I'm gonna get a bunch of rubes jumping on here and telling me that RBIs are a flawed stat but if Nelly walks, 30% of our run production from last year will be playing elsewhere in 2021 and the only thing flawed is likely to be our lineup.
  10. How about we bring back three man post season rotations? Nobody wants to see 4th and 5th starters or bullpen days in the playoffs.
  11. Agree that we MIGHT be overstating our OF bounty. Especially if we trade Eddie. Trading Eddie likely puts us right back to having to rely on a .221 hitter as the 4th OF. I know many are not enthralled with Eddie's defensive prowess but I'm also not sure that throwing a guy with less than 10 professional games in LF is the answer to that. Keep Eddie and include Kirilloff in a 4 man OF rotation with each guy getting about 120 starts. IF Kirilloff knocks the doors off then you think about moving Eddie at the trade deadline.
  12. He's already gonna be a Twin for six of those seven years. Extending him now would just be throwing away the money that so many have seemed so concerned about paying Rosario. I'd at least like to see him get a big league hit before pulling the trigger.
  13. Worth noting that despite Ryan being gone for over 4 years Rogers, Duffey, Colina, Stashak, Thorpe, Berrios, Bolazovic, Sano, Rosario, Rortvedt, Rooker, Wade, Polanco, Kiriloff, Kepler, Gordon, Garver, Buxton, Blankenhorn & Arraez, more than half of the 37 guys currently on the 40 man roster are Ryan gets.
  14. So the goal is to have the best lineup in MLB but accomplishing that goal might include keeping Rosario and THAT is unfortunate? Seems like we're talking out of both sides of our mouths.
  15. I agree. And yet many think that trading a current corner outfielder WILL bring high end pitching.
  16. Not surprising at all that Cruz was designated as the one who could best pitch Beasley on staying here. After all, he IS their Designated Pitcher.
