  1. I can understand the Twins reasoning behind it...but guessing no way Lewis would be open to it. He literally is at his lowest value. Perhaps revisiting next year makes sense for him.
  2. I think the one thing that kills me most about the lack of anything substantial this offseason, is that the FO seems to be punting on another one of Buxton's prime years. To me, that is the biggest offense. I get he is hurt often, but when he is not, he is a game changer in his prime. Last year sucked., and he was 28. He is 29 this year, and punting that season means they will have literally wasted his best years. That sucks.
  3. Some things never change. Twins should TOTALLY sign a veteran 5th starter so they can block their MiLB pitchers longer. We all know this is going to be a rebuild year. Let's see what the pitching pipeline can finally do
  4. I appreciate your optimism here, but the "hope for a tide turning season" feels very on brand for the Twins. Why go out and create your own fate, when you can sit back and hope?!?
  5. If they make the World Series, and Sonny Gray is the #1 starer, that means they won some playoff series!! I'll take that all day!! I mean, eventually, yes, gotta get better to win a World Series, but this team has been ass for so long, I just want a playoff series win to start with.
  6. If Falvine came in with no Plan B, do we really want them in charge of the pivot?!?!
  7. Yeah, seems very pennywise and pound foolish to constantly ignore FA's and use prospects to acquire talent. I get there are outliers, and examples to the contrary, but this FO has been pretty much "wait out the market, try to get a bargain or last man standing, if not, we can flip prospects". That seems like a sketchy strategy, especially when you can literally acquire talent for just $$$ in FA, and use your prospects as cheap labor. Obviously there is a balance.....but this never swimming in the deep end gets old
  8. Yankees literally don't need to dump contracts. They are the Yankees. They print money.
  9. It's not my money, so in a vacuum, if you miss out on Carols, I'd be fine with Dansy. He definitely would be a big asset at one of the most important positions on the diamond. HOWEVER, knowing how the Twins operate, that contract would "limit" them from improving in the future...and I don't think Swanson moves the needle enough to make it worthwhile.
  10. Possibly. But considering the recent run of pitcher acquisitions, there is probably 100% chance the Ty is gonna need shoulder surgery come early May. Feels like the new Twins Way.
  11. You know this is a banger when comments are questioning if it is a parody. Well done sir
