  1. Thank you! He was torture to watch. His demeanor on the mound reminded me of Ricky Nolasco. He looked like he'd rather be anywhere else than pitching.
  2. I'm fine with all those predictions except Escobar. Losing Dozier would be fine because they've got Nick Gordon waiting in the wings. Who would replace Escobar? I'm against trading players unless you've got a replacement ready. Don't trade just because you're out of contention and that's what you're supposed to do.
  3. I'm probably in the minority but I don't think they should make a lot of changes. This just seems like one of those years where everything that can go wrong does go wrong. No reason to panic and start dumping people just to make it lot like they're doing something. Santana, Polanco, Buxton, Sano were totally unforeseen occurrences. They're not going to get anyone better than Gibson or Escobar so what's the point of trading them? They don't have any huge salaries to dump other than Mauer and he goes off the books after the season. I think the same talent is there that made them so optimistic at the beginning of the season. Now if Buxton and Sano really turn out to be busts then they have more problems than picking up a few prospects will solve. Dozier can go because Gordon is waiting in the wings. Lance Lynn is Ricky Nolasco. Dump for him for whatever you can get. Other than that I wouldn't do much.
  4. They've obviously learned how to pitch to Morrison. Overpower him with high fastballs for two strikes then get him on a breaking ball in the dirt when he tries to cheat. Over and over and over.
  5. I've always thought Mauer would be a fantastic fit for Fenway Park. He hasn't been the same hitter since those fly balls that landed in the first row in LF at the Dome became outs at Target Field. Those balls would be over or off the wall at Fenway. Would he waive his no-trade clause for a chance at a World Series with the Red Sox?
  6. Right after they signed Rodney I swore that I would turn off the TV whenever he came in. It was a good decision. Life's too short to watch him pitch. He's a heart attack waiting to happen.
  7. That's why I said "seem". I stated it as an opinion based on my observations, not as a fact. If that isn't allowed please let me know.
  8. Sano doesn't seem to care about his lack of performance or his weight. He's made enough money to go back to the DR and live like a king for the rest of his life. He seems satisfied with that. But the specter of David Ortiz hangs over him. Out-of-shape, oft-injured, under-performing guy gets dumped and comes back to haunt the team that dumped him. If the jolt of getting sent back to Class A doesn't change him maybe getting released or traded will. Buxton on the other hand seems to care too much. Lack of performance eats him up. If only their attitudes could be merged.
  9. Lynn's demeanor on the mound reminds me of Ricky Nolasco. He always looks irritated and crabby.
  10. The Twins could knock 15 minutes off each game by starting Mauer and Grossman out with 3-2 counts since that's where they always end up anyway.
  11. Garver got another big hit but he seems to give up a run per game with his awful catching.
  12. The Twins are not serious about winning when they play Grossman in the OF. He costs them a run per game.
  13. This all stems from Fernando Rodney. A closer who consistently blows games tears the heart out of a team. Wins are instantly turned into losses. It happened with Ron Davis and it's happening again.
  14. I don't trust Rodney and won't watch him pitch. He's a heart attack on the mound. I predict he will not be the closer at the end of the season.
  15. ""Nothing Falls But Raindrops" outfield..." Except when Grossman is playing. He's a brutal outfielder.
  16. If he has a year like last year the Twins might offer 2 yrs at $7-8M per year. If not he'll retire. I can't see him playing anywhere else for any price.
  17. Hero worship is for the young and naive. The older I get the less I believe in heroes, especially among athletes and celebrities. And I have never looked at modern politicians as heroes. Call it experience. The sooner you realize that they're just humans with the same flaws as everyone else the better off you'll be.
  18. I like Reusse most of the time but life is too short to waste it reading Souhan. Too much pious virtue signalling from him.
  19. I was at the game and called Jackson's HR. Boshers should have been yanked after he walked the lefty he was brought in to face.
  20. We left the game when Kintzler gave up the leadoff hit in the ninth. I simply can't watch that guy pitch. I used to do the same thing with Guardado. It's maddening to see him put guys on base almost every single outing.
