  1. Seth, you'd have Garver as your bench bat right away? Vargas at least gives us a HR threat off the bench. Right or wrong I don't see Garver that way.
  2. Interesting article, thanks for sharing. I wonder what the line ups are when Gimenez is in. If your backup catcher is in, is it more likely other backups are in? Or am I just accustomed to Gardy's get away day B squads?
  3. It makes a lot more sense to me if Atlanta leaked it. They are the ones looking for more in return.
  4. Could not agree more, been saying this for years! I am happy for Granite and hope he proves us wrong, but everything points to a 4th outfielder at best.
  5. Big Sexy coming to town. In his starts we can DH for Polanco or Buxton and let him bat.
  6. The whole K rate and K % is just one part of the equation. It's the part I think people are way too concerned about. Michael Tonkin has a pretty good K rate and K %. At some point you can either get guys out or you can't.
  7. You want to replace Vargas with Park? At best it is an even swap. A package with Gibson and Santiago plus a pitching prospect is probably less desirable than just a pitching prospect to teams selling.
  8. Why in the world do you mess with the MLB line up for a player who likely can not keep up this current pace at AAA? Do people forget how well Rosario, Buxton, ect batted in the minors? The conversation is just plain silly to me, no offense.
  9. Does anyone know when the last time a postion player has pitched so regularly for the Twins? I can't ever remember a position player pitching so often. According to baseball reference it looks as if he may be 1st in career appearances for the Twins unless I missed someone...
  10. The first message should be sitting him after the throw or if he continues to make that play. You can have some wake up calls without putting someone in AAA. I'd like to see Molitor make these type of moves first before a AAA demotion.
  11. When the team once again committed to defense, surprise they are 5-1. I've been asking for this for a couple years. Outside of Sano, I have little worry about the defense.
  12. Gimenez, Belisle, and Breslow are the three new vets Seth has making the team and I agree with this is how it will play out. I'd personally roll with Gimenez and Belisle and keep Boshers. We need a big improvement in pitching, have two veterans in the bullpen who can gets outs and another veteran catcher to work with the staff is not a bad idea. Garver should be catching everyday in Rochester. Anyone really upset about Gimenez taking Murphy's spot? Is anyone really upset that Belisle gets a spot over Tonkin or Duffey? Breslow gets a spot over Boshers? Not to mention most of the guys not making the team that are listed will probably see time due to injuries. If nothing else there's more depth.
  13. Indians 14th, Twins 15th, Rangers 30th. Small sample size, but any reason to be at least slightly concerned by this?
  14. Thanks for the Gopher write ups, keep them coming! Traxler has always been more of a role player and PH in the past, but he is getting more PT this year. Nice to see him improve and get more PT as he goes. Bit of a down weekend, but the conference season is where the Gophers will concentrate on winning. I don't know if they have the pitchers to battle for the title this year, but I know as usual, the writers have given them no chance. #14 is too good, to not get this team in the upper half of the league at minimum.
  15. They lost to NDSU, but those who don't follow college baseball, it's not a huge deal. Mid week games are more for the freshmen and sophmore's to get more game experience, especially the pitchers.
  16. I agree with having Romero in the top 5, I'm not one to get overly excited about any prospect until he starts dominating AA. I still think A to AA is the biggest jump in the minors.
  17. Thanks for the info and the video. The dimensions of the dome were 343, 408, and 327 I think. Does anyone know what the dimensions are at US Bank? Very similar?
  18. Love the Gopher baseball team, best ticket in town. Last year adults were still $8 and kids $5, it is very good baseball dirt cheap. I try getting to a couple games a year, but my kids own games make it difficult. I do have video of my then 7yr old at one of the Iowa games sitting in the front row behind the plate. The game was on BTN. The Gophers won the Big Ten again last year, and are a top northern team most seasons. This year they should have a very good offense, but it will be interesting to see where the pitching is. Gilreath was mentioned in the article, he is a good prospect who has been pitching in the bullpen until this year. I suspect it will take him a little time to adjust.
  19. i guess I like Jorge and his potential more than most here. I'd have him in the top 20 at least. My 02.
