  1. Just saw replay of Buxton's catch. Un-friggen-believable. I mean, there are highlight catches and then, this catch, which is amazing, impossible for 99.9% except for Buck. WOW!!!!!!!!!
  2. Hey Riverbrain, could you tell that bear to let go of that guy's neck
  3. I'll take a shot at this. I see as many as 9 taken off the 40 man (seems we have a lot of guys on DL with highly questionable futures, I.e. Hughes, Perkins and guys that aren't contributing). My givens are: Gonsalves Littrell Curtiss Reed Thorpe On the fence with Bard and Stewart. I'd call up Bard and see what he can do and then decide. As for Stewart, oh boy. Look at his last start; he goes 6 innings on 93 pitches but 60% were strikes but he still manages to walk 4 batters. Yet, he didn't get bombed, as he gave up 7 hits but still managed 6 SO's and ultimately got the win. The kid must have some Irish in him because he does seem lucky when he pitches. So as one fellow Irishman to another, I guess I'd keep him. The rest, tough calls , good players but I'd leave spots open for trades and FA's. As for Burdi, I see his situation play out like Z Jones (another fireballer) where Brewers took him and returned him to the Twins this past Spring. As always, great job Seth.
  4. Rhett Bollinger, MLB, thinks Twins will move Rogers up to closer role which should be rather interesting.
  5. Great trade Falvine and Levine. Now keep stockpiling arms by trading Santana, Kintzler and Dozier, then send a bunch of prospects off to Oakland for Sonny Gray. Now we finally have our 27 year old Ace that's under contract until 2019 or 20.
  6. You fail to mention the games prior to all star break where they were mid 30's. I didn't say they were playing in a empty stadium. The jest was they weren't selling out. And, the voters off Cobb County are mad about being stuck with the bill. They voted out the Commissioners who voted for this.
  7. Well, if that's the case, how much value do the Braves place on the Twins farm system compared to others and how high are they trying to drive up the price. Personally, the highest I'd go is a Wade, Burdi combo type. Not excited about giving up Granite
  8. Looking at the Braves top 30, they seem pretty deep with pitching prospects and Sickles agrees with this. I still think the Braves are wanting somebody close to MLB ready because of the new stadium they're in. They seem short on outfield prospects and 3rd base. Wouldn't surprise me they are looking for a Granite or Jorge or combo that may include a relief prospect.
  9. I read that too. So, 2 scenarios play out: Braves take on salary, expect high level prospect Twins take on salary, expect to give up low level prospect. I hope Len III is right
  10. The Braves move into a brand new sparkling stadium. Expecting to make a splash they trade for Garcia to show their fans and Atlanta they are serious on winning Now they suck. They're getting decent crowds but not sell outs and Cobb County is on the hook for paying off the stadium bonds. So, if this true, the Braves are throwing the towel in, trading a starter for prospect. The loyal Braves fans are ok with this but to the general public, it's meh. Except if you live in Cobb County. Can you imagine if the Twins had done this the 1st year in Target Field.
  11. Someone on Braves site threw out Blankenhorns name, pure speculation. A bunch of them want Garver, Jay, Thorpe, salivating over Kiriloff. Surprised they new so much of our Farm system. They even went so far to check box scores to see if anyone was pulled from tonight's games They couldn't find anyone.
  12. Great to see Sano in the finals. He definitely ran out of gas. If he learned anything for next year, he needs to get a new pitcher. That guy throwing to him was terrible. Sano had to take so many pitches which took valuable time. I'm sure Sano was frustrated.
  13. Good. Bring up Gonsalves. He's ready. In his last 2 starts alone, well over 60% of his pitches were strikes. He's going into the 7th inning consistently on a decent pitch count. He's using all his pitches. Striking batters out. Great command. What more do you want. Replace lefty with lefty. Come on FO, do it.
  14. Great job Seth. Gotta hand it to Bard, everything he's been thru, battling back from injuries and now performing better then ever. He's even managed to up his velo to 97, amazing. No reason to not bring Bard up, besides they have to make a 40 man decision on him at end of season. I believe the same for Curtiss.
  15. Love watching Berrios pitch. That high inside fb he uses to set up the hitter is an absolute beauty.
