  1. Hey, Go Big or Go Home so go for it!! I like it. Thank you for sharing this one!!
  2. Hey!! Someone signed a starting pitcher!! (Is that legal?)
  3. Same thing happened to me so I made another one and then tried to rename it... When Trying to type in a new name, the name box went blank and I couldn't tell how far back I had gone with the backspace to delete the old name and if you go to far it just exits the edit so 4-5 attempts later, I had a new name for my 2nd attempt at a payroll.
  4. Oh, yes, Larnach! I forgot to mention why he is not on here. I'm predicting injured to start the season and beginning the year on the IL or rehabbing in AAA. You know, someone has to be injured so I flipped a coin on it being Larnach or Kiriloff to start the year.
  5. ? Wilson Contreras ($17.00M) 1B: Luis Arraez ($4.50M) 2B: Jorge Polanco ($7.50M) 3B: Jose Miranda ($0.70M) SS: Carlos Correa ($33.00M) LF: Alex Kirilloff ($0.70M) CF: Byron Buxton ($15.00M) RF: Matt Wallner ($0.70M) DH: Austin Martin ($0.70M) 4th OF: Kyle Garlick ($0.70M) Utility: Nick Gordon ($0.70M) Utility: Gilberto Celestino ($0.70M) Backup ? Ryan Jeffers ($0.70M) SP1: Sonny Gray ($12.00M) SP2: Tyler Mahle ($8.00M) SP3: Kenta Maeda ($9.00M) SP4: Joe Ryan ($0.70M) SP5: Bailey Ober ($0.70M) RP: Jhoan Duran ($0.70M) RP: Jorge Lopez ($3.00M) RP: Griffin Jax ($0.70M) RP: Jorge Alcala ($1.00M) RP: Caleb Thielbar ($2.00M) RP: Jovani Moran ($0.70M) RP: Michael Fulmer ($5.00M) RP: Josh Winder ($0.70M) Payroll is 9.43% under budget I aggressively went after resigning Carlos Correa to a multi year deal (7-9 years) at 33 per year with it being as short as I could get him to agree to and trying to coerce option years as much as possible to limit the back end of this deal. I traded Max Kepler for a bag of balls and shopped Gio before either trading him for 2 bats and another bag of balls or just non-tendering him. I used the money saved to sign Willson Contreras to a 3-4 year deal (as short as possible) but went above his fading value to ensure I have more bat at the bottom of the line up. I then looked around for relievers and starters and realized this is Falvey and Levine! We make our own pitching. I resigned Fulmer and doubled down (or is this tripling down) on that Pitcher Pipe Line
  6. I said it at the beginning of the year and I will say it again, We are fortunate to have been able to watch such an amazing player on our team even if it is for just one season. True baseball fans I would think would appreciate the great plays he made all year while making them look easy and routine. I enjoy watching baseball. I enjoy watching greatness. I will enjoy every time I get to see Buxton or Correa make great defensive plays no matter how much or how little they are on the field. When they are out there, they are special to watch. I don't need titles to enjoy watching them and I will always hope to be blessed enough to be able to watch players like these for the time we have them. My favorite parts of 87 and 91 were not just winning the World Series both those years. When I think of those I think of Kirby's leaping grabs over the wall all year! I remember Jack Morris being a bulldog all year, not jsut in the 10th inning, I remember Gaetti's under appreciated glove work in BOTH series... I could go on and on. I don't just remember the titles, I remember the plays. Just like I remember great plays by Mauer, Hunter, Knoblauch, etc... in non winning seasons. I remember No Hitters and going to the Dome BECAUSE Radke was pitching (for a lousy team I might add) All this to say, I hope you all enjoyed watching Correa even while the season was VERY disappointing. He is special and I wouldn't mind watching him play for us some more...
  7. Maybe we should poach someone from the Rays... They seem to know how to do something over there...
  8. Valid headline yet most disappointing “near sweep” in the history of minor league reporting. I excitedly clicked on the headline to find Rochester lost; first score reported. All the mystery in the headline gone already… I then quickly scrolled past all the victories to see very Ho hum prospect performances *sigh* on to the next click bait… (this is a partially tongue in cheek comment, not a complaint)
  9. It’s interesting that they get their expected arrival dates and refuse to bend on them as the year progresses. Do they really think Strotman, Balazovic, Palacios, SWR, and Martin are all debuting with the Twins this year? on the other hand they updated Lewis to next year even though he already made a debut… anyone have further insight into these arrival dates and why they may seem funky?
  10. Actually Sano came out of the gate looking pretty good and put up a few pretty good years but then he fizzled instead of continuing to grow at the MLB level and he had all those weird injuries…SMH… In short, the projections I believe were dead on. He was a monster prospect and had so much potential in his first couple years. That has all just amplified his current state of mediocrity and causes us to see mediocre as REALLY Bad.
  11. And what about Merrifield? This rule is to help avoid injuries from collisions and he admits to running into Sanchez on purpose despite having a lane to avoid the collision?!?
  12. Not sure THAT George Lopez would help the relief core but it could be a lot of fun!!
  13. If there was a failure, it was pre lock out. There were a bunch of Starters and the Twins just were not ready to jump on that market until it was too late. Post lockout, the free agents had been picked over and the front office was scrambling. The preseason was crazy with trades and signings in an attempt to make up for the failure in the fall of 2021. The Correa signing was evidence of their desire to win but it was only because everything else didn’t go as planned and there was an incredible opportunity.
  14. This is exactly my thought...
  15. Apparently You need to work on this complaint thing a little… missed quite a few hot takes…
  16. Sorry for what may have been an over reaction based on too many posts that include injured prospects as key elements for a trade. If they are on the IL and especially if they are on the 60 day IL, we shouldn’t trade them because either we’re getting dimes for dollars or were breaking rules because they’ll never be back. Sano has negative value so if someone does take him, we’re paying his contract to get anything back. He doesn’t improve a trade. The only trade that will include him will be for one low minors flier or for cash relief. As for Lewis, if we trade him some day I sure hope we’re getting more for him than a 2 month rental player
  17. The Twins are hoping to get 2 used tires for their 2013 Prius in a trade for Sano… 2 injured prospects at the bottom of their value and Sano with negative value? Why are these names in trade proposals? Seriously, we REALLY need a facepalm emoji…
  18. Besides the previously mentioned teams: 2000 Yankees had the 9th best record 2006 Cardinals 13th best 2014 Giants 8th best More than 90 wins but Wild Cards: 2002 Angels, 2004 Red Sox, 2011 Cardinals, 2018 Nationals So seriously, 1/3 of the time a Twins like team (a “flawed” team needing pieces) has won it in the last 30 years But seriously, LAST YEAR!! Atlanta Braves with the 12th best record in the Majors we’re led to the World Series and Eddie Freaking Rosario, who was cut by TWO teams was MVP. just get me to the playoffs every year and enjoy the ABC lineup while we have it! (But please please make a meaningful trade…)
  19. We need a facepalm emoji… Baseball is not like Basketball, Football, or even Hockey. The playoffs are barely above a coin flip and a team can make a run on 2-3 good starters and 2-3 relievers if they have the offense. We could really use One more really good starter and a decent, not even necessarily great reliever and you have enough. Do you have the best team? Nope. But in Baseball, the BEST team rarely wins the World Series. someone do the Math for me… how many times in the last 30 years has the BEST team won?
  20. That list does not excite me… there are some good players there but all the starting pitchers we used to hope for are dropping? Eek…
  21. I have been a (frustrated) fan of Sano just as I was a fan of Eddie (at times frustrated there too). Watching those two emerge with Buxton, Berrios and Polanco was fun! (Sorry, just was never on the Kepler bandwagon). Now the new wave is coming (which I’m excited about) and 2 are gone from the previous wave. Another may soon follow. This is the life of a fan. Waves come up, some stay, some go and some just need to go. I love to sing “Let it Sano, Let it Sano, Let it Sano” after a home run (especially the walk offs) and would love to sing it through the playoffs and up to his World Series MVP crown. But, alas, I expect this is his last week as a Twin. I think he SHOULD be traded for whatever you can get from an NL team OR anyone else willing to bite, but I will also be sad when it happens.
  22. That was my favorite Grocery store in town but Cub Foods decided to move to town. They had the same suppliers so they told their suppliers they couldn’t supply Petricka’s anymore. Forced them to close down. There is a retirement center there now. I enjoy canoeing down the cannon river from Faribault and pull my canoe out right beside what used to be the store…
  23. I didn’t vote because I didn’t get the “xxx moves to the IL and Sano comes up” button… Kepeler’s foot? Polanco’s Back? Buxton’s (fill in blank)? Twins shuffle deck?
