  1. When I saw the Mets signed him I assumed they offered near or exactly what the Giants did to steal him. Seeing it just barely above what the Twins offered when I'm sure they already knew any medical issues that could have come up after a year with him blew me away. How do you not make that last push when the price just dropped him so close to your previous offer. Especially when you've seen Gallo is the best you can do with what's left??? This is more infuriating to me than the initial miss as I can't see the Twins at 350 but come on matching 315 or slightly better wasn't an option? I have to imagine matching the deal and saying you're our SS not our 3B would have helped their cause.
  2. I completely agree, especially with Kepler still on the roster. It sure feels like he'll be gone but if not, Gallo and Kepler are going to get most of the starts out there with their defense so Gordon would be down to only a couple games a week at best when Buxton needs rest. I'd rather give him the chance to prove he can be an everyday player before Lewis is back and either have a super valuable trade piece in him or the ability to ship someone else out and have Gordon take the spot.
  3. I find it encouraging, I think it reinforces the idea that the talent we have at the upper end of the farm system is there but other issues have blocked it's arrival. Aside from Miranda every player up there has had some injuries prevent them from fully establishing themselves but all have shown stretches of being able to play at a starter level or better. Assuming the twins injury luck gets better with a new trainer and the first normal off-season in years it'll be fun to watch them all get some playing time together.
  4. Was very low on Buxton after his first two years with his offense. Regardless of Injuries its been great seeing him hit the ball more consistently and develop far more power than I think anyone thought he would. I thought the Berrios trade would hurt more than it has, I liked the trade since I didn't think we'd keep him long term anyways but expected him to be in the top 3 for a cy young after he left.
