  1. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=derek+falvey+and+thad+levine&docid=608023870053495060&mid=C4701133F2B8810C3D93C4701133F2B8810C3D93&view=detail&FORM=VIRE It is one thing to learn about baseball from a chat room....
  2. What is learned about a player after 1 inning can be defined as nothing that was not known before
  3. You do not know the quality of the opponent until the point of the season you play them. The September schedule. The Rays and Jays can be worse than they were last year, The young talent of any of the AL central could develop over the year making the fall part of the schedule more difficult.
  4. Cave is a fourth outfielder. That does not block any talent from becoming a major league player except for the player destined to become the next Jake Cave. Jake Cave will continue to be a Twin until either his production drops or the year after he wins an arbitration case. People just need to get used to the idea
  5. That players who hit their bodies up against solid objects have more injuries than those who do not I thought would be common sense. Who knew that it had to be quantified to be valid?
  6. I will pay you no nevermind as I was not as clever as I once thought.
  7. Closers are sooooooooooo 20th century/ Which reliever is going to lead in leveraged index?
  8. It is likely that any of these players could play 1b in place of Sano. A little push from competition is a good thing
  9. The "always injured" Mauer after his rookie season averaged playing over 110 games a season at catcher while DH about 20 times a year. That is far different than Buxton. There is no comparison to what Mauer produced at his position compared to Buxton.
  10. Your comp is a guy projected to be a 4/5 starter and really hasn't pitched any better than that. this is not very exciting
  11. Walking 400 yards is going to tire the manger out. Somebody needs a lifestyle change.
  12. When did Maeda ever have an 11 game stretch like he did last year as a starter? Game logs do not back up your claim
  13. Kenta Maeda by your reasoning could also be the star with his 3.69 fip as a starter
  14. I have seen a few videos. I guess I am not as smart as some others but the delivery looked smooth on the videos I saw
  15. Baseball is wonderful to players that make something out of themselves.
  16. Maeda has had only one other season as a full time starter. That was a rookie year when he managed a respectable 3.4 ERA. It is hard to make much of a declaration of greatness, nor that he is mediocre.
  17. The current regime is basically 0-6 in series games. The 2017 was still Ryan's team. 2020 and 2019 once again proved if you do not score runs it is hard to win in the playoffs. To have the starter have to pitch a shutout to win is a high expectation to the point of being impossible. The bats have to hit They have done nothing to change that
  18. I think it is more prudent to spend money on Happ than Marwin Gonzales. They are only going to spend so much... Left handers seem to have some struggles with pitching for the Yankees. For 1 year Paxton would be a better idea. I do believe that Boras is Paxton's agent. Better ideas do not happen very often to his clients. Often times it is a bad idea contract. 4 years of a contract that a healthy Paxton would be worth would be the goal for the agent. That is a bad idea for any team.
  19. Perhaps someone could help out here. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/top-30-international-bonuses-of-2010/ These players should be entering their prime. Which one is the biggest star? Better yet, how many are still within a major league organization? It would cause one to wonder if the quantity approach would yield more players
  20. The rules are very concrete. If you have some notion of a NL DH happening, keep in mind that what was proposed was expanding playoffs for the DH . That was rejected by the player's union. DH is dead until the next CBA That was in something by the writing God of the players Jeff Passan, not made up by some false news reporter.
  21. I really don't know if the aberration that was 2020 projects to anything useful. The differences in any of the composite player indexes for the most part seem rather small
