    In my opinion...this is a "statement" game. We need to kick some Guardian a** today. Show them what we're made of. We can't let them win the finale and take the series. We can beat Beebs. Get out in front early, score some runs, and take the last game.

    I'm no Rocco fan, but he's severely limited in what options he has in the pen. That's the FO's fault. They keep trying to do the "build a pitching staff and build a bullpen" method on the cheap...year after year, and it just doesn't work. There's no doubt they have to make a few moves to shore up the bullpen. Whether or not they actually do it remains to be seen. You don't have to be a genius to see that Pagan and Duffey have failed miserably. They're no better than mop up guys right now. They're worthless. We basically have Duran, Jax, and T-Bar, and not much else. We've got a whole 2nd half of the season coming up and the risk of burning those guys out is very real. That means trusting and giving innings to the rest of the bullpen stiffs, or making a couple deals. I guess it's possible to bring up some of the arms in the minors, but that's real risky too. I'm not smart enough to know what the right answer is, but we just can't compete with the big boys with our current bullpen arms.

    Wow. Pagan is just killing us. I'd be 100% fine with cutting him loose right now. Please take Cotton too. ANYONE else would be better than those two.

    Looks like Bundy is gonna put us in the hole right away. I sure hope we can score some runs tonight.

    I see that Buxton and CC are on Rocco's "schedule" tonight. I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate them sitting at the same time. I hope the baseball Gods are with us tonight. I have a feeling we'll need it.

    I don't think it makes any sense to even try to bring Nelson back. There just isn't a need for him now at all.

    WOW! That was a brutal chain of events. It seems like we do stupid s**t like that on the bases every single game. Two hits, to the first two guys...and somehow, we can't score. Amazing.

    No matter what...Rocco can't keep throwing Pagan out there in close games...just to puke all over himself like he's been doing. I'm all for giving guys a second chance at redemption...but when it gets to 5th or 6th chances, I'm off that plan.

    THAT'S what a closer does. We've got a 100 mph guy that can do that same thing, but the Roc won't use him that way. With leads, good teams (and smart managers) have guys that pitch specific innings...most of the time. To protect the lead. Obviously, there are exceptions that occur at times. I'm talking 7th, 8th, and 9th inning guys. Why can't we do that kind of thing? Yeah, we don't have great pen guys like some teams, but Jax is fine, and we know what Duran can do. So, someone gets the 7th, Jax gets the 8th, and Duran gets the 9th. It's not rocket science. Just my opinion, for whatever it's worth.

    Have to run some errands, so I won't get to watch much of the first game. I'll have Cory and Dazzle on in the car. Hopefully, Smeltzy has another solid start and we didn't waste all the run scoring last night. Twins win!

    Perk is much better in the booth than LaTroy is. Not even close. I wouldn't mind one bit if Perk was the main guy.

    Let's hope they brought their bats to Cleveland. We can't go there and struggle at the plate. I'm pleasantly surprised to see Buxton playing. I figured after the workout he got yesterday, he'd be sitting tonight. Let's also hope our pitching holds up. We need to take at least 3 games there. If we could win 4 of them, that would be outstanding!

    Odd timing, no question. More money...probably. Maybe less traveling, and family issues play into it. Maybe he's just had enough of "Rocco Ball". We'll have to see how this affects our pitching staff, and how it plays forward. Kind of a strange situation for sure.

    Buck's knee is getting a real good workout today...I'd be willing to bet he's gonna rest it tomorrow night.
