  1. Pretty surprising, and probably very telling, that he isn't on the DR roster. I guess no one was interested after his little "showcase".
  2. I really don't like the word "hate". I probably hate the word "hate", more than I could ever hate any team. That being said, there are two teams that I dislike immensely. The NY Yankees, and the Dallas Cowboys. I grew up in the NY/NJ metro area, and as kid, I had Yankees this and Yankees that thrown at me constantly by relatives and friends. I ALWAYS root against them. That's why I was a Mets fan. When I moved to Mn, my dislike of the Yankees grew even more. As for the Cowboys, I was a NY Giants fan and Dallas always kicked the snot out of the Giants, when I was a kid. The strange thing is...I liked and respected Tom Landry a great deal. Fantastic coach, and he got done dirty by Jerral, which was an absolute shame. When it comes to attending games, the two worst experiences myself and my family have ever had, were unfortunately here in MN. Once at Target Field, and once at the dome for a Vikes game. Both instances caused by drunk, loud, unruly, offensive, obnoxious idiots. At the Twins game, the offending people were eventually booted out of the stadium. Kudos to the ushers and security there. At the Vikes game, nothing was done, and we ended up leaving because it was unbearable. In all the games I've attended back in NY and Philly, I've never had anything like that happen. No other city either. I know that's amazing, but it's true. I'll never go to an NFL game again, but I love going to Twins games and will continue to do that.
  3. I'm 100% on board for anything that gets rid of Pagan.
  4. At some point, KIrilloff has to get out there and see if he can play. Hopefully soon. If he hasn't even faced live pitching yet, he's got a ways to go. If Kirilloff can't make it, it'll probably be a different guy every game at first. I kind of like the Julien idea at 1B. That might be a great way to get his bat in the line up.
  5. I think at this point, Jeffers is what he is. A back up catcher and nothing more. I'd hate to have him as the main guy behind the plate. Vazquez is a big improvement over over Jeffers, and over Sanchez from last season.
  6. I'm not a Rocco guy at all, but I don't think there's any way that this FO puts the bag on him. He's exactly what they want. Would I like more of an old school kind of manager, who can use analytics as well as his "gut", and can make adjustments on the fly? You bet I would, but I don't see it happening. That's not the way things are going all across baseball. I'd kill to get someone like Francona as our manager.
  7. Just saw a report on Rotoworld from Do-Hyoung Park, that Gordon has a mild to moderate left high ankle sprain. He was in a boot walking with crutches after the game. Not good news at all.
  8. Wow...I know it's ST and means nothing, but Pagan REALLY has to go.
  9. It's great to watch the game on tv, even if it's Dazzle and Atteberry doing the announcing. Oh well...can't have everything.
  10. It looks absolutely beautiful down there! Enjoy the game!
  11. The game from this afternoon is on BSN right now. I know we won 4-2, but DAMN...it's so good to see a Twins game on tv. It's Tampa's tv feed, not ours. Kenta looks pretty good.
  12. I don't think there's any reason that he won't be effective and be able to pitch a decent amount of innings. I'm optimistic he'll be as good as before. He's had more time to recover than the standard TJ surgeries usually have, and the brace surgery is/was supposed to shorten the recovery time. Maeda never was a guy to blow people away with his heat...he's crafty and needs to hit his spots. He should be fine.
  13. I'm not a particularly big fan of the new unis, but I can live with them. Not a big deal. They could all be wearing clown suits as far as I'm concerned, as long as we're back playing ball!
  14. Really looking forward to seeing him make it to the bigs, and I don't think it'll be very long. He looks to be a good one.
  15. Good lord willing, I'll be 65 in a few months. Happened to see you're in NY. I grew up in the NY/NJ area, and lived there until 82. Mostly in NJ, but lived in Queens for a time. Was a die hard Mets fan until I moved to MN. Twins all the way now.
  16. Saw this golf thread, that's supposed to be a ball game thread, and wanted to chime in. I envy you guys. I'd love to be getting my gear ready for the course. Enjoy it while you can. Sad to say my golf days are close to, if not over. Due to my health issues..."Widow-maker" heart attack, thyroid issues, G.I. issues probably from all the meds, arthritis in my neck with some nerve damage into my left shoulder, The list goes on. Seems like something else going wrong with each passing day. I'm old and broken. Paying for the sins of my youth. I'm not looking for sympathy. Don't feel sorry for me, I did it all willingly, and I'm ok with it. Baseball, football, basketball, softball...and of course work, all took their toll on my body. Not much left now. I used to play to a 4 back in college many years ago, in the mid 1970's. Pretty decent with the stix. Won some local tourneys, Won a bunch of work tourneys. Taught many of my friends the game too. Memories of the past. Still played several times a week after moving to Mn back in the early 1980's. Loved every second of it. I've played two rounds in the last three years. Once with my brother in 2021, once with my son last summer, and that was only 9 holes. My clubs sit in the corner of my man cave, just begging me to use them. I don't know if I'll be able to anymore. I'm going to try to get out there at least one more time, and if the good Lord takes me on a golf course, I'll die a happy man. I hope you all have an enjoyable season chasing that little white ball around, and hopefully, the Twins kick some butt this summer too!
  17. I agree...it's a pretty flakey story. There had to be some people who witnessed what actually happened. At some point the Police report may shed some light on the whole thing. Until then, it's probably best to forget about it.
