  1. I hope you are correct. But championship teams still play above the 'average'. And, as stated, our pitching isn't going to be able to bail us out of a lot of jams. To have an entire lineup batting sub-.300 and one (Gallo) batting sub-.200 does not instill me with a lot of hope.
  2. I like that we addressed an issue. However, we may have created a new one. If Rocco is just going to keep resting Buxton so he can hit 100 games played, that will leave us a lineup that will not compete with the rest of baseball. Are we looking to rely on Gallo (.166), Larnach (.231), Kirlloff (.250), Kepler (.227)? Even with Buxton who did hit 28 HR in 92 games, he batted just .224. This team is going to lead the league in K's and trail the league in on base percentage. But, at least we have a dominate pitching staff to keep teams in check. Wait...
  3. Celestino needs to stay in AAA. We now brought in someone (Taylor) who can play all three OF spots, but most importantly can play the 100+ games needed in CF when Buxton is hurt... again.
  4. This is the type of trade I would LOVE to see them make, but never do. Bring him in and let him compete. I bet it would help us find our DH going forward, as he could take an OF spot. Also, he could be the guy to cover CF for 100+ games when Buxton goes down. Would rather have that talent out there than Celestino.
  5. The Twins need to do what others do to us, all the time; if you want the current AL Batting Champ with controllable years, it'll cost you more than just Pablo Lopez. They have to get more back than just one sub-.500 pitcher with controllable years.
  6. Love that Correa is back, but please don't stop! We have a lot of other holes that need to be addressed and can be, now. Please!
  7. I would rather keep Kepler and no prospect. Not sold on this FO evaluating "prospects" anyway.
  8. Don't see the purpose of spending the $2.5, just because we wouldn't otherwise. Kepler is more athletic than Gallo, and if stats say he [Gallo] will benefit from the shift ban, than so too will Kepler. I don't see Gallo being any upgrade, let alone one significant enough to warrant $11mm investment on a 'hope' that numbers will return. I get that he is better defensively than Sano, who struck out at a similar rate; but we HAD to get rid of him for his lack of plate discipline. If we are saying it's the defense, then keep Kepler. He doesn't K as often as Gallo, he is more athletic and will also benefit from no more shifts... that's my opinion.
