I say Dunn but wish it was Manning. Dunn fits the profile of what they've been looking for and has a fallback of relief.

At this point with what is off the board, I think the Twins are going with Dunn. But absolutely love the BoSox pick of Groome and now the Rays pick of Lowe

Just some geeky numbers for ya. So far Statcast has shown there is a formula for hitting homeruns, and any baseball with an exit velo of 105+ mph with a launch angle between 20-30 degrees has a 99% chance of being a homerun. I believe the lowest angle for a HR happened last year, that was 105+ mph exit velo has been Stanton at like ~13 degrees which is essentially a laserbeam.

Romero is one of my favorites as I've spent the last year sitting on the bench with him, asking him when he's throwing, how's the arm. Kid is a prankster and the life of the party, he also shows off some swagger or confidence that others might mistake for cockiness. Here is video from Romero's last start in EXST https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaPQ5AbVKvg

Off field issues could mean so many different things. Is that he's a standup dick? Didn't stop the Twins from taking Kohl Stewart. Is it that he was suspended for 30 days by New Jersey Baseball because of school registering issues? Is it recreational drugs? Is it his work ethic? Is he dumb as a box of rocks? etc.

With Groome already decommitting to Vandy and going to the Chipotle JC where he'd be allowed back in the draft in 2017, he's already posturing himself to get paid what he wants or come back next year for it

Well you can bet the Twins scouts had tab notes on Sedlock dating back to last year as they scouted Tyler Jay pretty well who was also an Illini alum. Do you know who else is an Illini alum?? Me!

Only problem is Quantrill hasn't really pitched in almost two seasons, as his last action was Feb 27th 2015. So you're going off of scouting reports from his Freshman year and 3 starts as a Sophomore. His makeup off the charts but his scouting report was good not great at that time, a good fastball and really good changeup but with a below average breaking ball not the best for a RHP. Just heard John Manuel throw out the Dewon Brazelton stuff comp on Quantrill. A few teams (Pads, Blue Jays) have had him in for tryouts and have been rumored to try and get a deal done.

Next time I see Trey I'll tell him, he'll love the comp. I'm pretty sure Chipper is one of the guys he models after or at the very least is one of his favorite players.

I'm not a fan of his as I think he ends up in the pen but BA had this to say about him: thanks to a four-pitch mix that starts with a fastball that at its best sits 94 mph and ranges from 92-96 mph. His velocity and command have wavered a bit as he blew past his career high for innings. Hudson's hard curveball is plus on its best days in the 78-82 mph range, and he complements it with a an upper-80s cutter and solid-average changeup that help him combat lefthanded hitters better than in the past (.267 opponents average vs. .229 for righthanded hitters). Hudson's fastball command is below-par for the typical top-10 pick but his electric stuff could push him up into that range.

I'm thinking they did, looks like a 2nd round talent instead of a 4th (although he was paid like a 3rd). The older he gets the more muscular he's going to be as well, he just needs to keep his flexibility as he already had a stress reaction in his lower back at the end of GCL. Told him yoga and pilates with lots and lots of hotties will help

Oh I know he won't unless "injured" due to roster formation but he's looked lost most of this spring and it might be in his best interest to stay in GCL til he starts hitting and gaining confidence.

I'm probably the biggest Cabbage fan here, great kid, great athlete. He's been hitting cleanup and in the heart of the order for the duration of EXST as well as playing a strong 3B. Kid has a beautiful lefthanded stroke and the further that he develops and matures he has 20+ homerun power. Here are just a sampling of some of the videos I've taken on Trey this Spring https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5wSFfmoMI4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WWZmwsCaQc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRtwroyg-_E

Thorpe having Mono likely means he won't pitch in affiliated ball and if he does it will be very little. I talked to Kolten Kendrick and his parents about him coming down from mono last year right before the draft and has taken him nearly a year to get back to feeling full strength. Cottontop Kendrick said he'd take a couple of swings and just be exhausted and he looked gassed in GCL last year but this EXST he looks like the kid the Twins had drafted. As for Thorpe, there is no reason to push him, he's still young enough it's not an issue but look for a really strong 2017 season out of Lewis.

Right now he's holding the weight pretty well, he has a large frame/shoulders that's only going to get stronger the more he develops. As Seth said, he's a work in progress still at first, and he's been DHing alot this EXST. The power is legit, he's been getting better with taking pitches, working counts, his contact is still questionable.

Minier has me worried, kid has looked significantly overmatched all EXST and he couldn't hit at E-town last year either. The power is there, he just has really hard time making contact; he might be best to start 2016 with GCL.

He signed late as a 20yo Dominican and played 2013 and 2014 in the Dominican and all of 2015 in the GCL where he was one of the league's better pitchers but he was also one of the oldest.

Jaylin Davis could surprise a few people, kid was a top 5 round talent last year before injuring his nonthrowing shoulder. His power is legit I've seen him clock some light tower shots in EXST. He plays a competent CF, has average arm and speed. The biggest question has to be whether or not he can make enough contact. The Twins are treating Ynoa with kid gloves right now as they should, his pitch count/innings has been limited to less than 40 pitches/2 innings thus far in EXST. His first inning of work, his fastball holds up in the mid 90s for the first inning but his tank starts to deplete quickly and he's down to high 80 low 90s.

My favorite is still Quezada, sleeper written all over him. His velocity is just nasty and he's started to throw the ball for strikes which is his key. Still he's effectively wild as many hitters have fancy feet when getting in the box against him. For some reason, he's been throwing a curveball instead of a slider and I think it has to do that he has much more control of the curve-he can at least throw it for strikes. His slider was high 80-low 90s but he could never get it over the plate and he seemingly had no idea where it was going. When talking to the players for both local squads (BoSox and Twins) he's one of the guys that everyone says why is he here? Video on him from this EXST alone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__hl563TT1A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpLDnXv9k5M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcHpaoNqF1Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoFUp6efgmk

As Seth has said he's played there the entire EXST, partly that has to do with Cabbage looks so much better and fluid at 3B with sometime at SS too. Blankenhorn has looked decent at 2B, he's still working on his footwork as one can tell but he looks passable and plausible to start his season as everyday 2B.

Hmm, go to college or sign for $X million... Despite how much fun I had in college, I'd take the $X million worse case I have the money to pay for the college after chasing the dream. Somehow its not blocked by the CBA but a kid can get drafted by an MLB team and sign out of HS play a season or two, then go back to college and play on the football team with a scholarship.
