  1. I am wondering if Correa and Boras are asking too much or if the offers are lower than anticipated? He may have to settle for another contract similar to last year's. Twins should be offering two year $40million/year with an opt out after one. Contract should not include a no trade clause. Twins trade Correa at the deadline and offer to split the remaining amount due for 2023 ($6.667/million) as an incentive for the Yankees or Giants to take him. Correa gets his money, possibly goes to WS and can be a FA again when there should be fewer Shortstops available and he still is only 29. Hopefully Lewis (or Lee) is ready by this time. I realize this is an expensive bridge to the future.
  2. Curious, can the Twins negotiate with Carlos now or do they have wait until he officially declares his intentions? Right now he would be a current player getting an extension. If they are allowed to be in contact with him, do you think they are. Or do you think they will just wait and sees what transpires.
  3. Per Seth Stohs, Josh Winder is starting today. Do we know the corresponding move yet? Sands, Sanchez, Archer to the IL?
  4. American Express --Don't leave home without it! (Karl Malden)
  5. Signed a minor league deal with Texas Rangers.
  6. Why all the pessimism? Why give up hope? The Twins can rise to the occasion. This can be our finest hour! Too bad most games last about three hours☹️
  7. Curious if anyone received an email like this? Comes from apfco.com- which I see is a promotional products company in Grand Rapids MN. Curious if it is legit. I am leary of giving out contact info to companies or individuals I am not familiar with. Thanks
  8. Wow! I would never had guessed Joe was 75. He must have some kind of fountain of youth thing going as he looks 50 years younger?
  9. I like this alignment but would move San Diego to the west and Oakland (Las Vegas) to the southwest. I would try to keep the two Chicago teams together but St Louis and the Cubs have a longstanding rivalry so keeping them together would be optimal. Midwest Division. Cubs, Sox, Cards, Pirates and Guardians. North Division, Twins, Brewers,, Tigers, Jays and Royals. Could swap Royals and Guardians. A lot of Jay fans come to Target Field when Toronto is in town.
  10. I think Gordon's career will resemble Danny Santana's. A player in search of a position. We still have Royce Lewis in the mix.
  11. if Gardenhire leaves in a cordial fashion, i.e., retires so he can stay with the organization-- I would not be surprised if the Twins selected Scott Ulger or Terry Steinbach just because it sounds like something they would do. Not that it would please me.
  12. Brad Berreman over at Rant Sports suggests the Twins could get Jair Jurrjens from Atlanta for Benson. If that's the case I would jump on it. Jurrjens is worth a gamble and the Twins have many outfielders in the minor leagues that have passed Joe Benson on the prospect chart. Although Jurrjens may be a non tender candidate then a trade wouldn't be necessary.
  13. "pitchers jailed for murder in their home country" It was only attempted murder. You should have included UUU-- just for his initials if nothing else.
  14. Major league baseball players have to be confident to be successful. When they struggle-- that confidence may appear to be arrogance. I don't think Plouffe shows any more arrogance than other players. You can never tell about injuries, but it does seem the Twins have more than their share of lingering ones.
