  1. I believe AZ is also picking up $24,000,000 remaining on Greinke's contract!
  2. I never said they don't know. If you get mid-high level talent as you cited that can aid in making that run how is that 'giving away' your prospect talent? Obviously they are going to reach for the cream of our crop in a trade scenario. That is how the game is played. Other teams are in possession of what we need to improve on the season and perhaps season(s) to come. You go back and forth and if the deal isn't what you want you move on. Prospects are prospects for a reason. They might be HOF players or might fizzle out or land somewhere in the middle. You never know. I never suggested mortgaging the future in any trade scenario. WIN TWINS
  3. T- 4 hours and counting FO...if no additional moves are made,,,VERY VERY disappointing!!! They have to know in their baseball mind as it stands today we don't have it in us to beat Houston or NY in a 7 game series to get to the big show. Assuming they would make it to the ALCS against us and assuming we make it. As a fan it tells me we hope you enjoyed the season but we don't believe the squad is worthy of "going" for it by trading away top prospect(s). Hopefully we see at least 2 more arms coming our way starter and reliever. WIN TWINS!!!
  4. I would trust Arraez today over Schoop if I needed a pressure packed AB...see last night. With that being said I see him continuing to start over Arraez at least in the short term. I don't see Arraez rocking the you best play me boat. Schoop wont be back next year IMO. TK was on with Reusse last night...TK says the kid just seems to get it. Normally he likes to see about 2 years of AB'S before coming to that conclusion, That is a good endorsement!!
  5. Next 2 weeks should be very interesting. We as a fan base have waited a long time for our Twins to be this competitive. Personally I trust the FO to put the team in the best situation for this year and beyond as it pertains to what move(s) they make in the next 2 weeks. HUGE HUGE series win in Cleveland!!! This ballclub has something about them that is just there. Whatever the "it" is they have "it"! We are close to having a team that can go somwhere come October. WIN TWINS
  6. Hit 1 HR in the postseason if my memory serves me correctly in the World Series. I was 10 then. Great veteran pickup.
  7. I thought it was the Soul Patrol? Wasn't it THunt..Lawton and Jacque that were the Soul Patrol? Stewart was a great trade no doubt. Where did those 16 yeas go?
  8. Should be a 'playoff type' atmosphere. We will see how the boys react. There will in all likelihood be several high stress situations. My guess is Rocco has them loose...dont think just play ball! Here is to hoping for a 2-1 series win. WIN TWINS!
  9. The 4 years of team control him make very intriguing. Prospects are prospects for a reason. Gotta give something to gain something. If you could somehow squeeze 6 out of your starters in the post-season you would now have your closer here in the 9th. Rogers is a viable/mainly reliable option. Two good lefties! Question is do you trust the rest of the pen enough to make this your only addition? Time will tell on that front. IMO it will come down to how much the FO believes this team can win it all. If they are all in this is a trade you probably should pull the trigger on both for the short/long term success in the bullpen.
  10. Most prospects are prospects for a reason. They aren't proven MLB players. You have to give up soemthing to get something. This FO will make a move or 2 to improve the team. WIN TWINS!
  11. Certainly a great question...what I know is this. So far this season there isn't a layup out in the lineup when we put our best 9 out there. Everyone of those boys can step up! Let us keep enjoying the ride! WIN TWINS.
  12. Pure speculation...Twins say hey Craig we can do 2/30...15/yr. how does that sound? No, I want a 3 year deal please....hey Craig how does 30 over 2 years sound? No, I want a 3 year deal for real. Cubs say hey Craig how does a 3 year deal for 43 sound? Great lets do it! If this is the case for the Twins to say they can't commit an extra $13 mill to make a quality run that is sad. A deep run in the playoffs easily pays that extra year. Instances like this are why ownership gets the stigma attached of not wanting to go the extra mile to win. Hopefully Derek/Thad have a viable plan B in their hip pocket. From purely a 'business' standpoint they made a poor decision for the rest of 2019. This would have really ignited more interest in the season this team is having.
  13. I will say this...after a loss this squad is laser focused on not repeating what caused the previous days loss. Off the top of my head I don't recall a losing streak of more than 2 games this season. I could certainly be wrong but one doesn't come to mind. We are seeing some really good baseball being played....really good! This line up has zero layup outs in it. Starting staff has been very solid. The pen is good but not to the level of the other facets of the game. As it stands today IMO that is where there is the most room for improvement. Taking 3 of 4 from Tampa was impressive. WIN TWINS!
  14. I think we all know out of 162 you are going to have some clunkers...Twins get back on track tonight and overall split the 4 game series against the Rays...that is a very good baseball team over there (copyright Gardy)...a split on the road in a 4 game set should be deemed successful. Tampa is going to compete for the division in the East and certainly a wild card berth. Win 2 in Tampa and take care of business in Cleveland and Detroit...6-4 road trip is .600 ball...I would take that right now!
  15. When Jack Morris is genuinely gushing over a pitching performance you know it was impressive! Case closed.
  16. So far it has been a lot of fun watching this club play ball. I expect them to continue to play well. My simple mind has always said you need to get to at least Father's Day to have a real gauge of where you are at. We are about 3 weeks away from that. Such a long season to be certain. Let's continue to enjoy the great baseball.
  17. He makes the play=extra innings. Who knows what happens then? They had an opportunity in Game 7...guy was a great ball player for many many years. 66th on MLB all time hit list according to baseball-reference...guy had to move his family to Idaho...at the end of the day it is a game/entertainment...not good what he went through after that...RIP Buck.
  18. I think the luxury tax may play at least a small part in the Sox lack of action on him. I also believe they saw some thing(s) in his performance last year that they weren't all in on resigning him. He is digging in and so are teams. I don't see a team caving to his multi year demand.
