Seems almost criminal for him to continue using his self-assessed 'all-star stuff' for in-game batting practice. One potentially positive result of these fireworks in spring training is that there should be no misgivings about continuing this sad experience during games that count. Right Rocco? Seen enough yet??

Again? The Twins Lose Carlos Correa to the Mets.

What Can Nick Gordon Do for an Encore?
Chachi replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Thankfully there is enough room on the internet to highlight a positive development for the Twins! Thank you - Gordon seems to be disproportionately around when good things happened for the Twins last year. He is fun to watch play ball and his recent trajectory as a ‘gamer’ is compelling as his role solidifies or even expands. Easy guy to root for considering his pedigree and the adversity he ultimately needed to endure to arrive. Much respect for Go-Go-Gordon! -
What Defines Success for Byron Buxton in 2023?
Chachi replied to Ted Schwerzler's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Making the postseason. -
Seems like forever ago at this point - but earlier this year the Twins passed the eye test as a team that looked like they were having fun and had a measure of the 'it' factor. Chicken or Egg debate is fair - they were winning and had a spark that was compelling to watch. So disappointing in how far and how low their vibe sunk over the course of the season.

Is Carlos Correa Really Going to Get Paid?
Chachi replied to Ted Schwerzler's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Perhaps the market for Carlos was waiting to see what he would produce without the advanced pitch recognition strategies they deployed in Houston. This season’s performance is the result and could be the more stable indicator of what he will be moving forward. Under that scenario, Correa would know it too and may take a second year of the Twins contract unless someone really wants to overpay for what he really is production-wise.- 46 replies

Twins Minor League Report (8/16): Wind Surge Blows Away Tulsa
Chachi replied to Steve Lein's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Last night's Kernels game was the very first minor league game I have attended in person. It was a terrific experience and also lucky to have witnessed Lee's first professional HR. That said, the level of baseball was a bit disappointing, specifically in the first few innings. The number of botches, errors and passed balls (Lee's two errors including a butchered routine pop-fly stand out) were less than impressive. For those that have seen vastly more affiliated baseball at the High-A level - was yesterday's game an outlier from a quality baseball perspective? (we were left speculating how the players might have spent their day off on Monday). Just curious to hear from anyone with more experience watching and if what we saw is to be expected more often than not?- 23 replies

Why Would the Twins Deal Carlos Correa?
Chachi replied to Ted Schwerzler's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
CC is exactly the type of performer the Twins (or any division contender) should be trying to trade FOR in the middle of a playoff race to improve the team and chances in the post-season. We have him now and it didn't cost us a single prospect. We're a step ahead! Let's use those assets to get the pitching we need to further improve our chances during the season we are currently navigating and enjoying.- 34 replies

Bundy Burning Through His Welcome
Chachi replied to Ted Schwerzler's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
My hope is that Bundy’s tenure is tied to his innings completed tonight: 1 inning = gone in one week. 2 innings = two weeks… -
Week in Review: Capitalizing on Cushy Competition
Chachi replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This time last year - the season was over and depressing any way you looked at it. Abysmal performance and little confidence in any discernable direction contributed to what was a hopeless low of lows. (IMHO) Fast-Forward to 2022: Beyond the inherent excitement that comes with simply being if first place as summer starts, this edition of the Twins is a wildly interesting (and entertaining) intersection of prime-level superstars, new acquisitions, core players and exciting prospects all contributing to what feels like a team with a compelling trajectory. If all those storylines aren't enough - it now appears that the White Sox are ready to join the race and a dogfight for the division crown...sign me up! Last - FWIW, hot rookies typically enjoy a shelf-life of surprising production before the league adjusts. Perhaps 'hiding' Lewis in AAA for a bit longer extends the tail end of any honeymoon period to a point in the season where his extra juice will be even more important. We'll find out soon enough (yet another reason this season is among the most engaging I can remember).- 25 replies

Twins Acquire RHP Sonny Gray from Reds for Chase Petty
Chachi replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I get that there is a bit of flotsam on the 40 man roster - but +3 and -1 over the weekend means two spots needed? Does a pause on the rule 5 draft work in the Twins favor in this case?- 159 replies

Twins Acquire RHP Sonny Gray from Reds for Chase Petty
Chachi replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Converting future value to immediate value makes sense and if the move(s) don’t end up creating a contender - we can readjust at the trade deadline back to prospective value. Taking a shot!- 159 replies
