  1. This team, as constructed, is not a contender. They are full of injury prone, unproven players. There are some players with potential, but most of them are slow, plodding marginal corner outfielders or players without a position. We can only bat 1 DH per game. The pitching staff is a surgeon's dream...LOL. At this point I need to see evidence in order to have confidence.
  2. Just like the national debt(our Government is just a big ponzi scheme) the high costs of having a competitive team may have a breaking point as well. Isn't attendance down in recent years? I refuse to go to a game, and almost never watch games on TV any longer. Lot's of other things to do/see. And, in a world full of greed, baseball represents that mindset to a T. I stopped watching the NFL and NBA a decade ago, and now baseball is right there with them.
  3. No one on the current roster. No point unless we see some team progress.
  4. Richard Dawkins once said "Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence". This seems to fit perfectly with the state of MLB for organizations like the Twins. I think the only way organizations with owners like the Twins can compete is for such owners to sell to another group willing to invest. This is a family business for the Pohlad's and that means maximizing profits before anything...including investments back into the business. That includes investing in the scouting/player development, which I'm not sure they are doing in a way that makes up for the inability to play at the top of the FA market. For these reasons I have come to the conclusion this organization is going to put out a bad product for some time. So the question is after 2 losing seasons, and not seeing any legit reason to think our injury prone prospects and players can compete, is "when does the real rebuild begin?"
  5. With 2 knee injuries ALREADY. I am not counting on Lewis to ever be the player we all hoped he would be. Most likely more knee problems going forward. Trade him now for pitching while he still has some value.
  6. With the financial climate of the sport, how do you legitimately compete now without an overpay or two? No, we are not Tampa, no one is.
  7. All I know is this looks like a 65-75 win group as is. The FO has to do something. Trade Lewis before he blows out a knee again. There are too many injury prone/injury risk guys on this team to have any confidence. And, it's time to cut bait on Kepler and possibly Polanco. If they do nothing else of note in the offseason, there is not much to watch unless they start to prove me wrong.
  8. I frankly don't care what the FO does, as long as it doesn't lead to a 3rd consecutive losing season. No thanks to re-living post 92 to 2000 seasons again.
  9. They spent some money signing Bell, which worries me greatly regarding the Twins chance to compete. If they go into the season without making some important moves, we could be looking at the basement like 2021. Unless, that is, all the prospects take a big step forward, and this team can stay healthy(not confident)
  10. Question is, are the Twins doing a good job of developing players? If you have good development, then you fill in the gaps with trades/FA. I'm going out on a limb and say if this season is like the last 2, we go full rebuild. Also can't have more of your productive roster on the IL than on the field. We have a few top prospects who are probably at a cross roads.
  11. And EVERY good MLB player in HISTORY was a rookie. Every team has rookies, and those veterans on this team were rookies once. Can't have a team of all veterans, unless you want a $200+ payroll, which the almost every team will not pay. I don't want a team full of rookies either unless it's a complete rebuild. Houston did this for about 5 years, so they could get high draft picks, and now look at them. I want a team with a mix, since this organization won't afford a team full of high priced vets.
  12. Well, let's give him one more year, and hope like hell he has better tools to work with. Then it's up to him to not **** it up. He's got nothing to work with now.
  13. I believe the Twins now have a negative run differential on the season. Ohh, and Megill has to go. He is awful.
  14. Another season like this and I think everyone below ownership will be on the hot seat.
  15. Yes indeed, and a bit worse then last season over 162. I think that is what we call rebuilding, though I don't think the FO sees it that way. LOL
  16. After the way the season started, wouldn't it be crazy if they finish 14-15 games out? Which is very likely.
  17. I said in another thread the Twins would finish 9 games back...they are on their way to being 12 games out. But I must say, they just look awful.
  18. Will Sanchez keep the avg above .200 by the end of the season?
  19. They aren’t good enough to beat anyone right now. No one injured is coming back this season now. No point in moral victories now. Just get the season over with.
