  1. I know someone here mentioned that Chris Paul had signed, yet, the Twins website doesn't show him as having signed. Can you confirm his signing? They also don't show Max Cordy as having signed, yet I believe he has appeared in a game. Are there others that they show as being unsigned who have in fact signed?
  2. It really has been a long wait, hasn't it Seth? But this is exciting! Too many players for several positions, but that will work itself out over the next year or two as some get it done and others fail. But 2017 looks to be when it should all come together for a great chance to win it all!!!
  3. I personally would like to see him stay for at least three weeks so I get a chance to see him.
  4. Polanco and Swim hit for .353 and .364 averages, respectively, and can't make your Top 6! No disagreement here, just a bit unbelievable. Looking forward to a short stop in Chattanooga on July 1st. Will be great to see the 2017 Minnesota Twins a bit early. Have a good one, Seth. Appreciate all you do for us minor league junkies.
  5. Aren't you being a bit tough on Reed, Seth? After skipping Hi-A, a rough start at AA could be expected. The important comment was, "He has been better of late."
  6. Hey Seth, Like many, I was surprised early in the year when Mark Hamburger was starting games in Rochester. Now that he is in the bullpen, do you think it was designed to get him ready to be brought up as a long reliever? Really great seeing him have success, hopefully, we see him in Minneapolis some time this summer.
  7. I enjoyed your reference to Evansville (Jose Velez), Seth. That Frontier League team plays in Bosse Field, one of the oldest ballparks in America. It is a beautiful old ballpark that was used for the filming of "League of their Own." J.R. played there when he was 16 and being there for those games remains one of the neatest baseball experiences of my life. I always joke that he got to play in the same centerfield as Madonna! Thanks for reminding me of the memory.
  8. These are great stories, Seth, Both on the field as to where Booser has come from, and for your bringing them to us. Thanks!
  9. Have you looked at Aaron Hicks' splits? Yes, he has an OPS of 1.024. But he also is hitting for a .154 average lefthanded with a .522 OPS. So nothing has changed from the past two years when he was a failure!
  10. After reading the above comment about Pinto's catcher interference and his recent spring training game where he got hit with a bat three times in one game, Seth, it raises a question. Does Pinto set-up closer to the hitter than other catchers? Or does he maybe move forward to receive the ball? Have you heard anything about what he is doing that appears to be different than most catchers?
  11. Sounds like you are having a fun trip, Seth, Is Zack Granite as exciting as he sounds? Does he look like a solid hitter, not just a speed guy?
  12. I watched the Rochester game, Seth. I would say that Hicks had one of the better games I have seen him have. On his catch, he was going all out towards his right and the wall. As he approached the warning track he dove and when stretched out with his glove arm extended made the catch. One of the best catches I have seen him make. Josmil Pinto had a good game defensively, throwing a runner out at first after a pitch and playing a tough bunt very well. But like you, Brock Peterson was my Player of the Game. Another player who took very good at bats was Rosario, who had good at bats against a crafty lefty (Albers) with one shot right at the first baseman and I think another solid single. Meyer has several hard hit balls in the first couple innings, including Hicks' catch. As for control, or lack thereof, he was all over the place.
  13. Like your lineup, however, expect that Nate Hansen will be somewhere in the lineup. My guess for the opening day starter will be Pat Dean, who I expect will be the odd man out for the Red Wings starting five! Also good chance it could be Sean Gilmartin.
  14. Nine of the ten pitchers with the most innings pitched (25.0+) had ERA's of 2.43 or less. Montanez was best at 0.36 with Lo and Rosario both under 1.65. But Sanudo, Gibbons, Jorge, Landa, Minnesota's own Austin Malinowski, and De La Cruz were all between 2.00 and 2.43. Incredible group of young arms. Will they all make it? Of course not. But with nine exciting young arms one would think at least a couple will someday be pitching at Target Field.
