  1. I don’t want to be that team who only wins one run games
  2. That’s good. How about another nice thing about the team?
  3. They’ve been hit with several injuries as well. Thirty five isn’t that big of a number when it’s only half of the time. That’s not as big of a problem as it was last year when at one point that was happening two-thirds of the time.
  4. They’re Top 5 in the AL in Runs Scored, OBP, SLG, OPS, and wRC+. Please explain how they’re “well below average”
  5. The Twins have no excuse to not score 6+ runs against Civale
  6. I feel like they could get something done with Correa. He’ll want a lot of years and a lot of money. It would be a risk, but sometimes you need to take risks. That being said I don’t see the Twins giving him a contract for more than 4-5 years, because the Twins seem to be averse typically to such deals. (The Buxton extension was 7 years, but that contract is very incentive-based) I would love to be proven wrong and see the Twins do it.
  7. I have added the two options that @bunsen82 requested. Those of you who couldn't vote earlier because the two newest options weren't available, they are available now.
  8. The Twins currently stand at 38-30 (0.559) and are leading the division. However, some don't trust this Twins team as much as others. Some have said they do not want this team to go 'all in' at the deadline. Questions for Discussion: 1. Should this team buy or sell at the deadline? If you have a side, how far to that side are you leaning and why? 2. If you think this team should buy, what should they be looking for? (SP, RP, Offense, etc) or If you think this team should sell, who should they look to unload? 3. What should the Twins' goal for the 2022 season be? Why? 4. What should the Twins' goal for 2023-beyond be? Why?
  9. I assume this is a “contending season” so trading Correa would be idiotic. Do not trade Arraez. Nope. Never. Cats and dogs should be friends before that should happen. As you said, the Twins have dealt with several injuries. With their key starters (Correa, Polanco) back, the gap between them and Cleveland should grow. Cleveland is not that good.
  10. Agreed with wsnydes, it was time to bring AK19 back up.
  11. This team does need relief help if they want to win in 2022. I’ll probably write a couple more threads down the road covering various relief pitchers who will likely be on the move (Jorge Lopez, David Robertson, etc)
  12. I do think this season would be a big success if they made it past the first round. The cost for Montas will obviously be high, but I wouldn’t be too quick to count the Twins out. Nobody thought they would sign Correa, right?
  13. The Twins starting rotation, as a group, has been rather mediocre so far in 2022. Here are some overall rotation stats for you: ERA: 3.82 (15th) WHIP: 1.22 (11th) K%: 20.2 (19th) BB%: 6.7 (7th) ERA-: 99 (15th) With the AL Central being up for grabs, the Twins should look to add at the deadline to increase their chances of winning in the postseason. We all know how long it's been since this team has won in the postseason. Starting pitching will be the need, and Frankie Montas is likely to be highly coveted at the trade deadline. Frankie Montas has been solid for the A's thus far in 2022: While these are not earth-shattering numbers by any means, they are solid. Montas possesses a 3.53 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 0.9 WAR, and a 96 ERA-. Those numbers may or may not improve if he moves to a colder place like Minnesota, as I would imagine it's easier to pitch in the colder weather of Minnesota than it is to pitch in California. Do you think the Twins should go after Montas at the deadline? Yes? No? If yes, what should the Twins offer for him? If no, why?
