    Well said. The biggest offenders are usually the people who hitch their entire life's worth and happiness to the wagon of their favourite sports team. How dare Joe Mauer not provide me the opportunity to feel good about myself.

    Perhaps you wouldn't have used the term "horrible" but it's still fair to discuss someone's lack of performance without being a jerk about it. If a pro athlete can't handle some legitimate criticism when it's merited then they're just in denial. It only becomes an issue for me when people decide to personally attack a player's character or comment on things they have no information on.

    Concur, a day late and a dollar short for the 5th straight year. Can't wait to hear the rhetoric defending this year. "We were a competetive team, we took a lot of strides, blah, blah, blah" Head still stuck in sand.

    Well cutting Mauer is about as likely as this team finishing about .500 so back to more realistic topics. Suzuki starting That bullpen 40 year old outfielders Mike Pelfrey Trevor May Shane Robinson Infielders in the outfield Guys named Eduardo being DH WTF Terry? Seriously, WTF? I've showed faith in Ryan since he came back, I think I'm done. Watching this crap for going on 5 years without any definitive direction as to where it's heading and being patronised about the players he thinks we're supposed to accept as making the team better.

    Why can't they keep the option and start him with big club next year? Just because they might decide to keep the option doesn't necessarily mean they're worried they'll need it. With the timing of his rehab and September call ups, they'd be pretty stupid to waste it for no reason.

    The Jays stole the Twins lunch money, pulled their shorts down, kicked sand in their faces and walked away with their girlfriends. It was like King Kong vs Ant-Man and even that flatters the Twins. Hopefully they can manage to pull the atomic wedgie out in time to regroup against the tribe.

    Either Ryan vastly overrates this team or he has very little faith in it, I'm not even sure which. I tend to think it's the former considering the Jepsen deal, otherwise why bother?
