  1. I was at that game vs Texas. I think MIllwood only gave up a couple of hits too and had about 10 Ks. A solo homer by Cuddyer I think was all of the scoring. There were boos when Nathan came out in the 9th. The late innings were loud and it was an awesome atmosphere. As dominant as he was, I think he goes into the the Hall of Very Good, just not the Hall of Fame.
  2. I have been trying to find a statement from a former player that credits him as fixing something mechanical or improving velocity and I haven't found one. I guess all I can do is put faith in Falvey and Levine and hope they know what they are doing!
  3. I think you know what I mean. We could be watching the Angels and Yankees tonight and have no game thread.
  4. Do they have Santana go on a pitch count in his 9/28 start to make sure he is rested? Something like 80 pitches? I would line them up this way AL WC 10/3: Santana ALDS G1 10/5:Berrios ALDS G2 10/6: Santana on 3 days rest ALDS G3 10/8: Gibson ALDS G4 10/9: Berrios ALDS G5 10/11 Santana
  5. Burdi was lights out before his injury and was probably nearing a promotion. I think he gets added. I know it would be risky exposing him and I would hate to lose him for nothing.
  6. I am not a pitching coach but there seems to be an awful lot of movement in his delivery. I like what he brings but that motion scares me.
  7. He "might" have to have a surgery for an injury he hasn't had yet. He also "might" get hit in the head with a line drive. I suppose we should sign him up for a CT scan now too. Same could be said for Greene, Lewis, Baz, or any other pick.
  8. I think this list goes to show that the thought that the system lacks star power but has depth is spot on. At a moments notice, Palka, Garver, or Granite could come up and contribute. These are nice prospects that are in our top 15. I think in a lot of organizations they would be top 10 for sure.
  9. I noticed Crawford is hitting .155 for Leigh Valley. I am sure that is driving the Philly fans nuts. Isn't he a top 10 prospect?
  10. Is the hitter, I think from Mississippi St(?) draft eligible this year? I can't think of his name but his numbers are unreal. Originally, I was all for a college arm. Greene has grown on me. I wouldn't be disappointed if they take Greene and he fails. At least they took a shot at a talent that could change the organization. I would be disappointed if they pass and he turns out to be all that was advertised. If that is the case, McKay being equally as advertised would help get over that disappointment.
  11. A few years back, ok maybe more than a few, the Twins played the Yankees on Easter. My brother and I went up to this series. This was back in the dome days and on Saturday night, Scott Baker threw a very good game and beat the Yankees. The next morning, being a "good" catholic, we went to Easter service downtown and we walked in with Joe Torre. He was very polite until some middle aged woman started bashing him for the Yankees losing the night before. I was a little shocked that 1) someone would give him crap about the Yankees losing the night before and 2) that they would have the nerve to do it in church.
  12. How often will Murphy play in AAA? Park and Vargas are there along with Garver. Any chance he is taken off the 40 man?
  13. I would have no issues if they let Tonkin go. I have said that in the past. However, keeping him as the long man for a little while doesn't really do him any good. He isn't a long man. If they keep him, I would want to see him in a role where he can pitch one inning, but his place on the team is going to be the long man. That being said, I think Tonkin goes and Wimmer stays.
  14. Breslow was added to the 40 man. I haven't heard a corresponding move though. Can they put May on the 60 day DL now? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/03/twins-to-add-craig-breslow-to-40-man.html
  15. I think eventually Buxton takes over as the leadoff hitter but I don't want him penciled in there now just because. I want him to start the year off in the 9 hole and force his way higher in the lineup by having good ABs and learning pitch selection.
  16. I usually don't care too much about arbitration in general but I am really rooting for a guy like Betances. I enjoy watching him pitch. He is just down right nasty. I know he will get a big pay day when he hits free agency. I just think the 3 million the Yankees offered was low based on his production and what 3 million can get you in the open market.
  17. I thought I had read somewhere that the Yankess (and also other teams) try to exchange numbers and get deals worked out before the arbitration numbers need to be submitted but once they are submitted all talks end.
  18. I would like to see a college arm step up but it is hard not to like what Greene has to offer. Does anyone have any info on Shane Baz? Could he be in play at 35/37? If they take Greene do they try to get college arms in those spots?
