  1. The least of my worries is how Miguel signs his name. If I kept all of the "practice signatures" he left around his room the summer of 2011, I would have a book. I am more worried about his Tommy John surgery recovery and the pressure he is under by fans to be the Minnesota Twins "savior".
  2. I just love Rosie. He was with me in 2011. That was the crazy year...Miguel Sano, Eddie, Kennys Vargas, Jonathan Arias, Jairo Rodriguez and Tyler Jones. Rosie has a quick wit, and was very easy going. I can't wait to see him in Fort Myers during spring training.
  3. OK - we all know that I am prejudice when it comes to "my kids". This is what I know. Josmil is never going to get to be a major league quality catcher if he isn't given major league opportunities. Personally, he is a great guy who knows his way around my pantry and refrigerator with the best of them. Good luck Pinto! I'll see you in March.
  4. Pinto was suppose to start tonight but Fryer is the starting catcher. Does anyone know why?
  5. Something has to be done with Joe Mauer's contract. He is an annual $23,000,000 drain. That is $5,750,000 per HR and $442,000 per RBI. Put Vargas on 1st and get Pinto behind the plate for at least 50% of the games. Josmil is never going to get any better in the bullpen.
  6. One of the best "framing catchers" I have ever seen in the minor leagues was Jhonatan Arias. His ability to "frame" gave the pitchers 2-3 inches. Unfortunately, he didn't have enough offensive punch to keep him playing professionally.
  7. I can't wait to see Miguel in spring training. Missed him last season secondary to his injury. One of the most colorful kids I have hosted in my home for the Elizabethton Twins.
  8. I am so excited for Kennys! He's playing 1st base recently. Nice young man with a fine attitude and a winning personality. Sure to be a fan favorite for many years. I always enjoy my trips to spring training to see all of my "baseball sons".
  9. I just love Kennys. He is a HUGE fan favorite (in more ways than one). He posted a picture today in a Rock Cats uniform dressed up as a Jack-o-lantern. That's 1 big pumpkin. I have a message in to him to see if they celebrated Halloween in June in New Britain.
  10. Saw the pics of Eddie - post surgery. It takes a special guy to get back out there and play again. He has a smooth, very fast swing. He is smart and polite and represents the organization well.
