  1. That's a bit much to put expectations like this on Max; we can hope he is the best he can be, but it's wrong for people expect someone to be like someone else that puts up ELITE stats. Hope he has a career year and continues to ascend with his talent, anything above that is great; but it will be our pitching that makes our season a success or failure...
  2. I'll say it again, Eric Thames would be a good add to the team and affordable. He was fun to watch for the Brew crew, seemed a good clubhouse guy; and could be used along with Garver at 1B depending on pitcher matchups, keeping Mitch healthy, and would keep Sano at his natural position. I also think he'd be better for playing with Cruz as well, much as what happened with Sano and the kids, but that is mostly just my opinion...
  3. Good balanced analysis; I like this article, and would be curious to see any/all of them signed, if our infield D could improve enough to warrant signing Kuechel and Teheran. Julio walks 1 more per 9 than Gibson, yet has an ERA half a point lower than Gibby did last year; and we could really use a lefty starter and bat in our lineup. When facing a lefty pitcher, we could use Garver at 1st to rest his legs and Thames at his age. Lower risk, possibly rewarding signings imo...
  4. Yea hes a no sale for me because of his locker room personality, wouldn't be a good fit on a Baldelli team imo. Plus hes right handed like Sano, Cruz and Garver, so if Rosario ends up being traded would rather see a lefty to replace his bat, whether 1B, 3rd or OF. Thames would be a solid, fairly inexpensive guy to look at I think, to platoon with Garver part time against lefties
  5. Probably less, I would rather have Bumgarner over Wheeler anyways. He's a lefty, with PS experience and pedigree of success during WS; he's only a year older, and MadBum had better stats last year than Wheeler except WAR and giving up 8 more HRs in his 12 more Innings pitching in the NL west...
  6. Would much rather see Moustakas with us over Donaldson, both have comparable stats last year, and Moose really turned it on with the Brewers late last season when Yelich went down, so that shows great clubhouse appeal to me; not too mention the money saved with him over Donaldson...Only question I have is how will Sano actually be at 1B, hopefully he can pick a low throw
