  1. "Alex Colomé has proven he can be successful..." I'm assuming this is looking at 2020 and prior. He's had a few clean games this year, but in the position he's in a 1:3 clean to putrid ratio is not something any team at any level and accept.
  2. I have a theory: IF Colome does not play THEN we win. Simple in its design, elegant in its intricacy.
  3. not returning until someone is fired or Colome is DFA'd
  4. These call-ups, this early, should send a clear message to the rest of the team. Start performing, or a much younger and lower-cost option will be taking your job real soon.
  5. Loooooooooooooooooooooots of baseball still left to be played, assuming we can get on the field and get beyond the outbreak. Still concerned about the on-field performance so far, but there is months of ball to play and too early to panic.
  6. The solution here may be related to the Donaldson/Buxton article earlier... If neither of these two can consistently stay healthy then maybe the solution is to have them platoon DH, and however isn't DHing on gameday is playing their normal position. That means we have to carry an additional infielder and outfielder (or a super utility that can play either).
  7. Both are a concern. The history of nagging injuries has made it so that we should assume that each will be out for extended periods during the season. At some point you need to look at alternatives... my concern is that we end up with another David Ortiz situation.
  8. at least for the central, we finished 5-5 against Chicago and KC, and had wining records against Det and Cleveland. Yes they were upgraded teams, but we took care of business. What i have to wonder is what changed during the season after we started so hot (relatively) on offense.
  9. Having had the benefit of being able to watch a significant amount of baseball (still less than I would like, but more than I normally would have in a regular season) I had a lot to watch and not rely on box scores. What my eyes and brain tell me is that the hitting coach situation has to be addressed. The #s back up the fact that this was a major regression across the team, and with Falvey & Co. so driven by analytics I have to think that this is the very first change that they make.
  10. Hernandez and Varela need to be gone as the hitting coaches after this flaccid hitting at the the end of the season.
  11. long-time lurker, first time poster Whats the prognosis for 3B the remainder of the season assuming Donaldson doesn't get back? Continue the platoon approach? Or is there any consideration of moving Sano back on a permanent basis?
