  1. Check out his Instagram. He's posted a bunch of workout videos that he's been doing. A lot for his community as well. I really hope that he continues to become a better person as well as a better ballplayer. Big time Sano fan. Let's go Twins! Edit: Check out his "stories". That's where majority of his workouts have been posted.
  2. I'd like to see Arraez take a step forward. I'd like to see him sure-up his defense and take some more walks. It'd be nice to see him increase his gap power as well. He was a real catalyst last year, but also hit A LOT of singles. Hitting more doubles will allow him to score more runs which in turn makes him a much more valuable player. As mentioned before, Polanco definitely needs to take a step forward defensively. I always felt nervous when there was a big out needed and the ball was hit to short. Would be nice to cut about a 1/3 of his errors into outs. Be nice to see Rogers figure out what made him so susceptible to his struggles on back to back appearances. Would be even more of a weapon if he was more reliable on day two of pitching.
  3. Sign Bumgarner. Trade for a stud pitcher. Sign a backup catcher. Two bullpen additions via trade or free agency. Maybe sign that Japanese first baseman, and call it a day. B+/A- offseason.
  4. I wonder what it would take to get Jon Gray from the Rockies or Luis Castillo from the Reds or Robbie Ray from the D'Backs. I feel like a trade for a frontline starter is probably more in play than a signing. Try to go after the elite bullpeners out there and trade for two starters. Try to sign Pineda. You can even sign a trial and error guy like Alex Wood or Porcello for the 5th spot. Personally, I like Gray and Ray and signing MLB: Gray (Blazovich/Rooker/Miranda/Jax) Berrios (5.5 mil) Odorizzi (18 mil) Ray (Lanarch/Gordon/Alcala) Pineda/Wood (10 mil) AAA: Graterol Dobnak Smeltzer Poppen Thorpe Not terrible. Not terribly unrealistic either. What packages do you think would bring Ray and Gray to the Twin Cities?
  5. Good for Rocco! Maybe the Twins can use that as an additional selling point for free agents this offseason
  6. I'd give up all the top prospects the Twins have for a World Series Championship.
  7. In terms of contract, it's probably a safer bet to put a 7 year contract out to a position player rather than a pitcher, but it just doesn't seem like many of those long term contracts work out favorably. I'd rather go high dollar, less years. Offer both 5 yrs/200 mil and see who says yes first. Hey, it's not my money.
  8. Also, no way the Player's Association would allow this to happen.
  9. It may also come down to more than money for these guys. We all assume that Cole won't resign with the Astros. If they win the world series this year, why would he pass up a chance to win one or two more with them? Could he take less money to stay with a team that has legitimately made him the pitcher he is? He had one good year with the Pirates; 2015. All his other years with Pittsburgh he pitched less than 140 innings, albeit with really solid numbers, but his career definitely took off with Houston. I personally think it's Cole or bust for top of the rotation. No to Strasburg for more than 3 years at 25+ million; dude has had injury history and is a power arm which to me, spells disaster; also don't think he'll opt out. Personally would rather sign Wheeler as he will cost a lot less and will probably be better in the long run than Strasburg. Sign Cole or use prospects to trade for front line starter, in my opinion. Would the Reds trade Castillo; personally would give up Lewis for him. What about Syndagaard; would give up Lewis for him too. There is no need to sign middling starters, especially when the front office said they're targeting impact pitching. Ivan Nova is not an impact pitcher, neither is Alex Wood, neither is Quintana. Our internal options are just as good as those guys. I imagine Pineda will sign a 1-2 year deal similar to what he got from the Twins two years ago. If so, get him as well. Cole Berrios Wheeler Odo Pineda/Dobnak/Smeltzer/Gonsalves/Graterol Offense is bound for regression. Need to bolster that pitching staff pronto. The FO said they were going to do it, now it's time to actually back up what they say. Go for the gold and if it doesn't work, you can always retool later down the road. I'd personally rather win one world series and have some down years than have prospects in the bank that odds say majority won't pan out.
  10. Definitely good to see Lewis looking strong in the first couple weeks of the AFL. Chalmers seems destined for the bullpen, and if he can get his control under control, he could be a stud out there. Who's this Zach Neff kid? May we see him in Minnesota next year? Thanks for the report!
  11. I don't have any of that except very good internet. I will be watching every game wherever I am in HD. The internet is easy boys and girls.
  12. This 100%. If Berrios is on his game, the Twins have a chance. If he is lobbing curveballs over the middle with little break, the boys are doomed. This game is all about Jose. Five solid innings would be gravy.
  13. Once the Twins are done, I'm out. I don't doubt that ratings are down. When there is so much else going on, there is so much else to do. I don't think people follow sports as much as they follow their team.
  14. Whatever they decide to do, I think it comes down to Wade vs. Cave and Astudillo vs. Miller. Regardless of what they decide, the Twins just can't get swept. That would be heartbreaking.
  15. Should have traded him for Syndagaard. Plain and simple, this dude can't stay healthy. He absolutely needs to think about the big picture and realize that the highlight catch is great in the moment, but if he's only playing an average of 90 games a year, those catches that save a run one game end up costing the team way more runs in the long run. Hard to tell an athlete not to go balls-to-the-wall, but something needs to give. Twins have been fine without him. I expect them to continue to do so.
  16. I'm really high on this guy as well. He just needs to start amassing more innings. Good frame. Strikes guys out. Limits walks. Wonder if he was a guy that other teams insisted on receiving in a big trade.
  17. The Twins messed with him this offseason. I bet he was preparing to be a starter and then he's told to prepare as a reliever. I think he still has a chance. Can't throw 96-97 heat away for nothing.
  18. Big series with the Indians getting the Tigers. Can't afford to drop the series. Hopefully the Twins hitters make the necessary adjustments and like posted above; see the ball, hit the ball. If the Twins hitters let anymore high changeups pass by them, I'm going to have a conniption fit.
  19. It's most valuable, not best player. Clearly Trout is the best player in the game, but is he the most valuable to his team? Morneau wasn't the best player in the league, nor was Mauer.
