Picking 8th overall in the 2022 Major League Baseball draft, the Twins were bound to wind up with a solid talent. After grabbing Brooks Lee, they found themselves in position to get another first-round talent when they took Alabama’s Connor Prielipp in round two.

The Twins’ bullpen troubles are well-documented, and if they hope to contend in the second half and into the postseason, they’ll need to add at least one high-leverage reliever. Their best option resides in Colorado. 

Byron Buxton and Luis Arraez did their thing at the All-Star Game, while the rest of the Twins got a full five days off in the middle of the season before returning – with gusto! – in Detroit.

The lack of meaningful action didn't mean a lack of injury news (including a Buxton-related development), nor did it silence the buzz and speculation as a crucial trade deadline looms.
