AGAINST THE WALL!!! Blind Folds here ya go... Cigarette?

Don't worry... ChiTown will probably hit your foot.

ChiTown here: Bri, I'm a pretty good shot. Just sayin' ...

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Things to Think About:

1. San Diego -- A Beautiful City in deep southern California... It's so South that it's actually Between Peru and Panama. It has a population of 1,322,533... 95 percent of that population is made up of Military Personnel, Homeless People and Whale Trainers... The other 5 percent own grocery and clothing stores. San Diego has the 3rd best climate in North America... Right behind Boise Idaho and Columbia South Carolina. It's been awhile since Minnesota has a won major sports national championship but Minnesotans can at least sit back and say... at least we are not San Diego. The City of San Diego has never won a major sports championship and the owners try real hard to keep it that way. In a recent poll... Citizens of San Diego felt they had the best chance of winning the Stanley Cup first.

2. Petco Park -- I can't knock it... Petco is one of the most beautiful parks in all of baseball. Hitting home runs is hard to do at Petco with the outfield fences 685 feet from home plate and strong Santa Ana Winds that blow through the mountain passes and carry off small children who are not strapped down. One of the more notable features of Petco is the Western Metal Supply building in left field. They were going to demolish it to make room for the new stadium but after it was found that Don Rickles once bought scrap metal there it was saved from demolition and incorporated into the stadium plans. The employees of Western Metal Supply were originally very excited about the change in plans. That excitement turned bitter when they found out that the Padres were the team that was going to play there and were further disappointed to learn that their parking spaces were gone.

3. The Padres -- The Padres are building something... They have been building something for 30 years and they are almost done. They have a young talented infield who despite playing in the majors a very short time... They have still accomplished almost nothing. Along with these young position players... They also have a decent pitching staff who are pitching very well right now in the disabled league.

4. National League Baseball -- The Pitcher gets to bat and I love it... Because it's kinda fun when something unexpected happens. Kevin Correia has spent most of his career in the National League and has stepped to the plate 338 times. He has 32 hits and 5 extra base hits (all doubles) and he has struck out 121 times. No need to worry... Kevin Correia is very experienced at the plate. He knows how to walk back to the dugout and has done it a few times.

5. Moles -- A friend of mine has a mole on his face but he decided to get rid of it today. It was a sensible decision because he was picking at it and it bit him.

I'm just gonna get this out of the way right here and now ... Ish. Yes, with a capital 'I.'

Whew. Was starting to worry that game thread creation would be left to an amateur tonight. But forgot how late the west coast start times are.

I hope the late time of the game, esp. the later innings, does not effect the sharp, on-point, baseball analysis that are trademarks of the game threads. I have confidence people will be focused enough that they won't go off on tangets because they are a little tired.

I don't think tired is the problem. It's the sore elbows from the 12-oz. curls.

Ready to leave my hotel for Petco...the first of FIVE Twins games in a row, here and at AT&T!

I'm a happy boy...

I will be at AT&T next month. Have you been there before? My son lives within walking distance and we take in a game.

Just think...a month ago at this time, pelfrey would just be throwing his twenty-fifth pitch in the top of the first (7:00 game time)

westcoast baseball sucks!

7:25 central time remix.

You are giving him way too much credit. No way he'd have thrown that many pitches yet with his time between pitches with guys on base (to his credit he is faster without guys on base, but that would require a guy actually not being on base). That along with a catcher visit, a pitching coach visit, and let's toss a three minute replay review of some kind because I'm already annoyed by how long they take.

I hate West Coast games.

Have fun in the game thread -- I'll be a pumpkin before the 5th inning.

It's ok, Kevin. You exceeded our wildest expectations last season. Still plenty of time to turn 2014 around...

That's me, perpetual optimist. But in fairness to me, there is a drug in the late stages of FDA approval that treats Trachselitis. The side effect disclaimer reads like an ER admitting log, but fingers crossed.

Btw, if you google 'Steve Trachsel' and the letter 'h', the first autofill is "human rain delay".

NL game tonight, nothing says excitement quite like a pitcher bunting in the 2nd or 3rd inning.

Yes! And that's just a warmup for handling the excitement of the comet-blazing-trail-across-total-lunar-eclipse excitement of an AL team executing a double switch.

That might make Gardy's head explode, best he gets ejected and let Molly handle it.

Well, when we go off focus it won't be because we're tired...

Molitor and Steinbach only played in the AL, so they could never understand the intricacies of the double switch. We must rely on Gardy's time with the Mets and Bruno's short time with the Cardinals to survive this week's "strategery". If Gardy gets kicked out, we may inadvertently end up with Herrmann having to pitch and Swarzak in at catcher. It'll be complete anarchy, but we'll know who to blame.

TC Bear... His costume has more padding and can better absorb blows.

Plus, TC is a southpaw, "they ought to outlaw southpaws" (Rocky II). And the chicken has to be nearing social security at this point.

Who wins in a fight, TC Bear or the San Diego Chicken?

Discuss...

TC shot a T-shirt to me that fell short of the mark, but managed to wrestle it from the bratty nine year old whose head it bounced off of. Will always treasure the memory of the rush that the lottery tickets purchased with the Ebay sale of it brought me.

That said...

Judo Bourne chicken ftw. Sorry, TC. Thanks again, though.
