Now is the time to trade Dozier

Dozier is phenomenal, I would hate to see him go, that said, now is the time to trade him. Here is what I think we could get for him, a potential starting catcher, a close to ready starting pitcher and an A ball throw in, I hate to do it, but Polanco is clearly ready to take over and we can recharge the team with the return.

BD will be a barometer for a new front office. He is a valuable but replaceable asset. What the new FO does with him, will indicate whether they will be proactive in re-balancing and improving this roster, or continue to make square pegs fit round holes.

Polanco OPSed .739 last year in AA, and then .661 in short duty at AAA. I was a big Polanco backer, and he was getting close, but the evidence wasn't there to do more than let him ripen a bit more in AAA in 2016. Which he has...you can't always rush a 22-year-old.

I like the proposed haul and can't disagree with your assessment. And I'm a big fan of Polanco and his potential. Have been for some time. And I think the Twins have handled him poorly, at both the ML and milb levels of late, until recently.

I wouldn't move Dozier until the off-season when you can have multiple trade partners. Even then, I'm torn on trading him. I like Polanco getting his chance now. I glad he's getting a shot to see what he can do at SS, a position he's played all his life until this season in the minors. I'd be very interested in having him continue to play SS, possibly challenge Escobar next season, and at worst, provide a charge off the bench as a prime utility player to begin 2017 as he hopefully eases in to a full time role.

Someday, somehow, I hope that a decision on SS based on the defensive capabilities of Polanco/Escobar is not a discussion we will be having. It's not so much about whether either can "play" SS, it's whether they can raise the level of play there so it is a defensive plus. For the record, I still see Polanco's future at second, or as a possible fill in at third depending on the Sano outcome, and EE as a utility IF. I would still trade Dozier, but his streak makes the concept hard to defend. But no human being can continue not only to get his favorite pitch up in the zone, inside FB, PA after PA and continue to not miss one of them. It's beginning to border on crazy.

Dozier white hot, no question, perfect time to trade him, are you gonna tell me all the teams in contention have the 2b they want?  Of course his power makes him exceptional, and thats why I think we can get the proposed haul
