Originally posted at k-bro's baseball blog Another series win! We all could get used this, right? There's nothing like winning to make everyone all confident and happy. A couple of notes: I think that my buddy Brian Dozier needs a day or two off to clear his head a little. It seems like he's scuffling a bit, especially with his glove. I think he'll be fine, though. Did you see that sick Ben Revere catch on Saturday? That perfect somersault in the outfield with a catch in the middle
Aaron and John talk about Byron Buxton versus Mark Appel versus Carlos Correa, why Monday is the most important day of the Twins' season, first-hand scouting reports on Miguel Sano, Eddie Rosario, and the Beloit team from special guest Seth Stohs, how Carl Pavano is the new Shannon Stewart, what to make of Francisco Liriano's impressive start, their PickPointz MVP picks, Ben Revere's bunting, and how Aaron looks in a black evening gown. This is version 1.0 (and most likely the only one). My mock draft: 1. Astros – P Mark Appel, Stanford. It comes down to him or Buxton. 2. Twins – OF Byron Buxton, Georgia HS. Correa gaining. 3. Mariners – SS Carlos Correa, Puerto Rico. The Mariners are unpredictable. I think it comes down to Correa or Buxton 4. Orioles – P Kevin Gausman, LSU. Bundy and Gausman could form a lethal combination. 5. Royals – P Kyle Zimmer, San Francisco. Will they pass on Zunino? Will they gamble on Giolit

Originally posted at www.ManCenter.com ----------- Looking through names that expect to called next week, there are a few that seem to fit various patterns that the Twins have followed over the last handful of years. None of these names have appeared in any other preview that I've written. Luke Anderson, RHP, North Dakota State - Anderson is originally from Prior Lake, MN, so there is a very good chance he's been on the Twins radar for awhile. A senior with local ties could be added late
Earlier this week, I handed out the “awards” for Twins minor league relief pitcher and starting pitcher of the month for May. Today, it’s time to recognize the hitters. You’ll certainly notice that I ranked a top 6 for the two pitching categories and yet, today, I rank just five hitters. I wanted to give six, but there were a lot of guys that were in the same range, and none quite made me say that he had to be added. Miguel Sano, for instance, had an 0-24 stretch and a 1-39 stretch, and yet, he

On Friday night, the Twins watched Carl Pavano struggle through another rough outing as he tries to find a way to fight through the shoulder problems that have plagued him in 2012. In less than five innings of work, Pavano gave up two home runs including a grand slam. By the time he left the mound, the Twins were in a 7-0 hole and it can be a challenge to come back from that big of a hole. The three-game winning streak for the Twins came to an end on Friday night so let's look around the mino

We do get labeled the worst team in the AL once again. The Twins are going to be facing 3 straight RHP this weekend series, Low, Tomlin, Masterson Derek Lowe's last start was vs the White Sox, his line was 2.1 IP, giving up 8 ER, and 10

Original post from North Dakota Twins Fan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Get out the brooms because the Twins just got done sweeping the A's in a series at Target Field. It wasn't the prettiest of sweeps but a walk-off home run from Josh Willingham and an interesting outing from Francisco Liriano put the cap on the three game set. The A's aren't exactly the cream of the crop in the American League but at this point the Twins are just trying to play better baseball. The Twins head to Cleveland for a weekend s

I get a regular e-mail from Richie Decker with "legal blasts" related to baseball. He had this, Opening Day memories, from Jim Kaat that includes the 1965 Opener: Blog #27 - New Legal Blasts (and Unrelated Baseball Opening Day Memories) 05/23/2012 In 1965, I was scheduled to start against the Yankees. I left for the park in Minnesota, but there was a huge traffic backup. I got out of my car and a guy told me that the bridge was closed because of a big rain storm, and the river was flooded an
I have to say watching the last 3 Twins games were fun to watch. 3 Things that got my attention in those 3 games. 1. Capps obvious excitement getting the save in the first game. I love seeing true emotion and he was very excited getting that save. 2. What a boring second game!!!!!!!!!!! Then turns exciting in about a 1/2 second cuz we all knew that Willinghams shot was going to be a walkoff, and the Twins needed something like that at home. 3. Liriano on the mound taking care of bu

This article originally was posted on May 30 at Knuckleballsblog.com. I know Twins fans aren’t quite accustomed to dealing with having their team be uncompetitive right out of the gate, but that’s no excuse for being rediculously stupid. It seems like some folks just don’t know how to enjoy the rare good performance when they see one. No, it has to be immediately followed by, “Let’s trade him!” http://knuckleballsblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/MorneauST11h-221x300.jpg Justin Morne
Jose Rodriguez was the Twins Daily short-season minor-league hitter of the year. He is at the Dominican facilities for spring training now but will likely join Extended Spring Training in Fort Myers.
I really hold back what I would like to say about then payroll arguments here. The fact that people don't accept the amount taken in dictates the amount going out requires one of two things. Extreme financial ignorance or fanatical bias that prevents the acceptance of something some basic. I did not change the argument. It's the same idiocy over and over. Do you really want to be on the side that suggests revenues does not determine spending capacity?
