  1. Its not really a big surprise that teams were reluctant to sign him
  2. Kaepernick never had an issue when he was starting qb. He gets benched so he realizes there’s no future in football and his career needs to go in a different direction. He’s actually a genius
  3. I was responding to an accusation of cynicism towards athletes , nothing about crime and justice
  4. such a bad example, as privileged as they come, you’ll never convince me he was a victim of anything
  5. so he didn’t skip his tryout?, settling lawsuits keep you out of court
  6. Nike pays him more than any football team would, he had a chance to come back and chose to skip his tryouts, he hasn’t sacrificed anything
  7. There is more than one side to this story, there’s not a right and a wrong side , there are two sides, maybe more even
  8. Lots of games being played , the Brewers game is on, in Milwaukee
  9. There will be consequences, there are a lot of fans who won’t agree, enough to have an impact should they choose to go that route. These players sometimes overestimate their appeal. As far as wins and losses or possible loss of pay, you’re correct if management supports the players then everything is good. Well there is the League too, but I think it’s safe to assume MLB supports the players too.
  10. yes management supported them , their choice, but you , not management, asked why there should be consequences, not your choice.
  11. I doubt any “ punishment “ is coming, maybe loss of pay, which is not punishment, it’s what should be expected
  12. Everyone is allowed to make peaceful protests, but if I chose to miss work to protest I wouldn’t get paid, and I wouldn’t expect to be either.
  13. Im sure there are fans who wanted to see a game tonight. I’m sure there are players who wanted to play. Most people are required to do there jobs and if there bosses don’t want to pay them for not showing up, it’s not necessarily a matter of heart. We all live with the choices we make. I doubt the players who decided not to play are concerned about pay or the win loss aspect, they did what they felt they had to do and should be willing to accept whatever comes down because of it.
  14. They chose not to play a game in a season where there are no fans. I don’t necessarily disagree, it’s their league their career, their choice. I won’t miss them, they are just not that important
  15. I just got there, I did overlook the possibility of deleted posts. My mistake, I never see politics here, maybe thinly veiled politics, but I normally post on game threads. It’s a good site, deleting points is the owners prerogative, but it leads to confusion when you see the post condemning them but not the condemned posts
  16. That’s fine, all other sports are doing the same. I did notice one of the other moderators locked a thread because he saw evidence of thinly veiled racism. Just because people disagree with whether or not the games should be played really has nothing to do with racism. The term is really thrown around freely these days. So much that it’s losing its meaning. And the message from the moderator on this site was this: If you disagree with what the players decide to do you must be a racist. Well, I disagree
  17. Pitching is what they need, first and foremost, pitching is the reason they get swept in the playoffs, has been for years, fix the pitching first and the other questions are much easier to answer
