  1. Escobar earned the shortstop position from his strong 2015 and for the first month was the only one that could hit anything until he got into a slump that every mlb has now and then. Nunez got so hot they had no choice but having the everyday starter. He has since come down to earth in San Francisco. I'm sure it wasn't easy on Escobar being told all offseason that he's the shortstop and starts the season as the guy. Then for no fault of his own he's playing once a week then Nunez is traded and gets his job just to have Polanco take it away again. Escobar is a great clubhouse guy and deserves an everyday role. That said if Dozier stays I didn't see anything wrong with Polanco's game at short and think they are in good shape there.
  2. I'm ready to give up on Gibson nice guy but it's been 3 years and it's the same thing and I don't see it changing. 5 innings if lucky with alot of pitches and trying make every pitch perfect and giving up 4 runs or more with the occasional brilliant start. I can see Hughes and Santiago having good years but am curious about Mejia. We've seen Duffey be an ace type pitcher for a stretch two years ago and think he can be a very good pitcher. There is no way the pitching can be as bad as last year.
  3. This is a hard one to decide. Jim Hoey has to be the worst pitcher ever. Dave Engle has to be the worst all star of all time. Rondell White has to be on the list of worst players.
  4. Polanco's arm isn't good enough for short but is for third base. Isn't third further away from first than shortstop.
  5. I hope the hype that Berrios has gotten he turns out better than Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco is a good pitcher but they have been hyping Berrios so much that would think he's the second coming of Johan Santana. But then they hyped Kyle Gibson to and I thought he was gonna be another Radke but all he's been so far after three years is a younger Mike Pelfrey.
  6. I think it's a position they need a young to be part of the young nucleus they are building. Garver is close and giving on Murphy this early would be a mistake. They aren't gonna contend anyway most likely just as well let the young guys take their lumps like they have been doing with most of the other positions. A veteran backup that can be a leader like Redmond did wouldn't be a bad idea and see what Centeno and Murphy can do
  7. I'm thinking Hughes as the number 2 starter provided he's back to form but either way is getting alot of money to not start. It all depends on what happens in the offseason. How about Dozier and a midlevel prospect for Chris Sale unless trading in Division is off limits. I'm ready to move on from Gibson. He's had three years to prove himself and one out of every five starts being quality ones is not acceptable. I also wouldn't mind seeing Murphy and Centeno get a chance to prove they can handle the job before spending alot of money on temporary until Garver is ready.
