  1. I feel that he will be a reliever long term. Many similarities to Alcala. For now though he should probably start at St. Paul to gain innings and experience. You never know what role the MLB team will need him for. Jmo.
  2. I believe it will be Blayne Enlow. I have no inside information to support such a claim.
  3. I agree 3b is probably the best spot for Lewis, but I think Miranda will be much improved. Having a good friend and mentor in Correa at short will no doubt help. Without Correa, I would be worried about Miranda at 3rd.
  4. I was watching MLB TONIGHT this evening, and they played a clip of Correa attempting to steal 2nd base. This was on September 12th, I think. He was thrown out, and his right foot jammed into the defenders foot. He stayed down for a bit, and was rubbing his right ankle. The speculation of the piece was that maybe he loosened the metal plate from the surgery he had while a minor leaguer. He did play 11 of the next twelve games at ss.
  5. I believe Joe Mauer belongs in the HOF. However, if Joe DiMaggio and Harmon Killebrew, among others, don’t get in on the first ballot, no one should get in on the first ballot.
  6. I believe I read on MLBTR that Senga was looking for a big market team where he would be the only Japanese player.
  7. Of those drafted as relievers, I believe Jesse Crain had the most success. Chargois and John Curtiss are still pitching.
  8. A no-hitter is a masterful thing when done by one pitcher. A combined no-no, imo, seems more like inept offense.
  9. I didn’t think the 10 day minimum applied due to Varland being added as the 29th man.
  10. I think Balazovic and Martin have been banged up. I have hope both will come back stronger next year. The strange thing with Canterino is I have never heard that there is anything wrong with his UCL. They just ran out of other things it could be, so they will repair his UCL. Doesn’t seem like the most sound strategy.
  11. While Hosmer may be gone, the padres are probably still motivated to shed payroll. Perhaps Snell could be had more easily. Or Clevenger, Darvish or Manea.
  12. So was Gaetti’s and Koskie’s at first. If he works at it, it will improve.
  13. I feel that Winder is one of the 13 best pitchers in the organization. He should be up. I would like to see him and Ober at the back end of the bullpen, with Duran and Jax. Instead of long relief, let’s see some three-inning saves.
  14. I feel that if Pagan were an injured pitcher, it would greatly help the twins.
  15. I would like to see the Twins draft Lesko. Organizational depth is good everywhere but perhaps catcher. Take a shot at a potential ace.
  16. Miami is said to be looking at Oaklands cf. Maybe Celestino would interest them. Ordinarily I wouldn’t suggest this considering Buxtons injury history. But it could be time to sell high on Celestino.
  17. I feel Simmons was brought in on a one year deal, with the thought being Lewis would be up around the same time Kirilloff and Larnach came up. And Lewis would be the back-up at ss and cf. But Lewis showed up lame and missed the year. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Twins sign another low budget one year deal at ss, and hope Lewis is recovered and ready by June. Spend on SP.
  18. Just for perspective.. Jacob deGrom was older than Ryan when he made his debut. He also wasn’t all that highly regarded. Not saying Ryan will be the next deGrom, just saying that none of us know.
  19. Strotman had very good control before TJ surgery in 2018, came back in the second half of 2019, then missed 2020. I’m not worried about his control, he just needs reps. His scouting report shows 60 command.
  20. I see what you did there. Except it’s not just a couple good starts. He’s been successful at every stop, from his freshman year of college. I hope he is the Twins no. 5 starter. That just means the other four are better. But I believe, given good health, that Ober will be in the rotation for many years. And be very successful.
  21. I’ll say it. I wear Bailey Ober colored glasses. This guy is not a number 5 starter. He is a potential playoff caliber starter. The four seamer plays up because of his release point being so much closer to home plate than the average pitcher. He has great command. The games I’ve seen, which is all but one, when he gets tagged, it’s been the change up that hurts him. If he can stay healthy, he will be a mlb starter for a long time. You can tell he is very deceptive when guys are consistently late swinging at a 92-94 mph fastball.
