Signing Gallo is just a debt repayment to Boras for "gifting" the Twins with a disguised single year contract for Correa last year. Now the Twins help out Gallo to rebuild his value and stay in the good graces of Boras for future "sweetheart" deals.

Since the Twins had to pay the entire salary for Taylor Rogers to play for San Diego and in return received ONLY: a starting pitcher with an arm ready to fail, a journey-man reliever who was/is unable to step up to a more significant role and a flier on a young, green pitcher with control issues that probably won't amount to anything, regardless of what the future holds for what the Twins received, THEY DIDN'T GET NEARLY ENOUGH !!

Offseason Status Update: Time to Pivot
Jacksson replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
One move that had to be made since the team gutted their upper level catching depth in their quest to unload Donaldson. If ANY Twins followers truly believed that the Twins would empty the Pohlad warchest of Bucks to make a serious offer on any of the big 4 shortstops, they are deluded. To any of those interested, I can make you a heck of a deal on the Mendota Bridge. Twins had their shortstop position filled when they acquired Farmer.- 38 replies

Minnesota Adds Farmer to Infield Mix
Jacksson replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
We will not see one of the top 4 Free Agent SS sign with the Twinkies. The team is owned by Jimmy Pohlad who learned business from Papa Carl (Mr Cheap) Pohlad. The Pohlad Business Philosophy: (by way of Fred Flintstone) "You're in the business army now; your only friend is a buck and the more bucks you've got, the more friends you've got." 3B = Miranda & Farmer SS = Farmer & Gordon 2B = Polanco & Gordon 1B = Arraez & Kirilloff & Farmer DH = Arraez, Kirilloff, Polanco, Miranda, Buxton, -

Seems like the plan should be to have 3-4 relievers used as "openers" in every series game for 1 or 2 innings, then turn the game over to the REAL starters to chip in their 5 innings, then go back to the bullpen to close the game out.

Gleeman & The Geek: How Much is Too Much for Correa?
Jacksson replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I don't know anything about Correa's personality BUT how much of the goings on with regard to his contract and/or expectations are driven by Mr. Boras? -

Ranking the 2023 Free Agent Shortstop Class
Jacksson replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Field calls on: Kepler, Polanco & Urshela. Larnach = LF, Wallner = RF, Miranda = 3B, Kirilloff = 1B Plug in Gordon or Martin or a Free Agent till Lewis is ready, then flip the Free Agent at the deadline.- 52 replies

After the New York Jerkees sign a big buck free agent Shortstop, the Twinkies can try to trade to get back Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Ben Rortvedt.

Will the Twins Pursue Aaron Judge?
Jacksson replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
NOT A CHANCE IN H*LL as long as a Pohlad owns the team. Mr Cheap, Carl taught his children well = In the business army, your only friend is a buck and the more bucks you've got, the more friends you've got. (Fred Flintstone) They may make a phone call to his agent, if only to be able to say a feeble, meaningless, "WE TRIED" to Twins fans. -
2022 Twins--What Went Wrong and How to Fix It
Jacksson commented on stringer bell's blog entry in stringer bell's Blog
Many decisions to be made during this off season: 1). Where does Arraez fit position wise? Is it reasonable to have a BA champ as a jack of all trades? 2). Where does Miranda fit in the field? 1B? 3B? 3). Is Kirilloff an outfielder or a 1B? Does he need a RH platoon partner? 4). Who is the back-up catcher? Is Sanchez kept or do you let him walk? 5). Is Wallner really READY for the bigs? 6). Do you keep Urshela? 7). Does any other team want: Urshela, Kepler, Polanco? What should we expect? What would we accept? 8). So long, don't let the door hit you on the way out: Billy Hamilton, Kyle Garlick, Jake Cave, Sandy Leon. Miguel Sano. 9). Here's a map of St. Paul for you: Mark Conteras, Jermaine Palacios, Caleb Hamilton. 10). Is Royce Lewis the Shortstop, FINALLY, or tradebait? If the latter, WHO is the Shortstop? AND I have not even gotten to the Pitching Staff !!!- 41 comments
