  1. I like Taylor, he doesn't hit for much but his OBP's not bad. Problem is they plug one hole and create another. Sisk might have been a valuable piece in the bull pen as the season wears on.
  2. I don't get it. How is the shift ban going to benefit Gallo's whiff rate? At least Kepler's a contact hitter. I believe this was a rebound signing from missing out on Correa and in the end it's going to leave a gaping hole. Why are they so hell bent on trading Kepler (and now they have little choice but to trade him)?
  3. I would think they had the entire season to evaluate, and it seems to me during the 2022 season this ankle (if that's the issue) did cause some extreme discomfort when he hit balls off it and the Twins said they weren't concerned going forward. With that said I do agree with them that they did not pursue this contract any further. It's seems like being pressured into buying a used car.
  4. The GG reference is totally moot. The GG is not only based on defense, but who you are, how much you get paid and who you play for. Plus some lobbying. A good example of this was Mattingly repeatedly receiving the GG over Hrbek...the better than or equal to fielder. Sorry, but this off season I'm very cynical about the MN Twins front office and the only thing that saved the organization in 22 was CC falling into their lap. If the past couple of years is any type of offensive indication, Gallo is not much of an upgrade. Don't get me totally wrong, I think he's a good addition to the team, but at $11 mil?
  5. It almost reads like some of these posts were written by the front office trying to save face. I just don't understand why they are hell bent on trading Kepler.
  6. I wonder if Correa didn't sign because he knew the front office wouldn't do what it actually takes to consistently field a winning team.
  7. The Twins would not be as good as they are if not for Correa. He's the type of player/influence this team has been lacking for a long time.
  8. Maybe the Twins need to keep Correa just to end that 0 - 18 streak!
  9. All three are long overdue. Tovar set the table for three HOF's behind him in the batting order. Gladden was the gutsy player with determination just like he expounds as a broadcaster. Gardy was the face of this organization, did way more for it than he'll ever get credit for. You gotta love all three of them!
  10. I remember Chance getting a weak infield single in a game and the Twins dugout made a big deal (joke) out of it, getting the game ball for him because he had been 0-40+.
  11. Tovar RF, Carew 2B. Oliva CF, Killebrew 1B, Allison LF, Rollins 3B, Cardenas SS, Roseboro C, Kaat P. 1970 starting line-up with 4 HOF's. Ulander coming off the bench and Perranoski and Worthington closing the game. They talk about Kaat's pitching but I believe he won a few Gold Gloves and he was a very good hitter too. Used on occasion as a pinch hitter. No one mentioned Griffith's outright releasing him after going 10-2 and trying to come back from a broken leg. The White Sox scarfed him up for a couple of 20 win seasons. I guess some things we'd just as soon forget. The best color analyst I've ever heard. All I can remember of Tony O was his offense and defense spectaculars and how important he has become to this organization.
