  1. Or it could make little or no difference because he is missing by so much it makes no difference. What do you truly believe is the difference between how many extra strikes Odorizzi might have gotten by having more pitches caught by Wilson? I think that it is as negligible as the subjective pitch calling that was your original criticism of Garver.
  2. I don't believe that Odorizzi's control issues have anything to do with pitch calling. He often misses way off the target and way out of the zone. Is there some objective evidence that Wilson is way better at calling games than Garver?
  3. I’m curious to see how Big Erv does the rest of the season. If he looks good enough, we might want to keep him around in 2019. That would be a real boost to the rotation.
  4. Sano is a natural. He should be fine. I’m happy to see him back.
  5. I'm no computer guru. But the frustrations with Buxton often remind me of Charlie Blackmon. Blackmon was up and down from AAA and struggled with injuries for more than two years before sticking with the Rockies. Now he's an MVP candidate and fitness freak. I think Buxton's struggles this year have primarily related to injuries (migraines and broken toe), and he can and will overcome them. Once his health stabilizes, he's going to be a stud. And I believe the same about Sano.
  6. 2 of 3 against Cleveland and Boston. One loss and the season’s over?
  7. Apparently, we need to play the Indians more. Or, better yet, why don’t we play like we’re playing the Indians when we’re playing against other teams? Got a Rosario shirt for Father’s Day!!
  8. Ohtani might not play, as the Angels may put him on the DL. https://www.mlb.com/news/shohei-ohtani-to-miss-a-start-for-blister/c-280336150
  9. Buxton started having migraines early in the season, then fouled a ball off his toe. Bad luck. I'm not writing him off until he gets healthy and plays for a while. I'm really tired of the Sano bashing on this site. There's another way to look at what's been going on with Sano. Last year he fouled a ball off his leg and fractured a bone. He tried to play through it without surgery so he could contribute to this team. That was probably painful and difficult, but he tried. He ultimately needed surgery and a rod in his leg. So he did not have a normal off-season to prepare himself for this year physically. Everyone on this site claimed he wouldn't be ready for the start of the season, and he wouldn't be able to play third base. He got himself ready to start the season at third base. He started out pretty well, but pulled a hamstring, which is a very difficult injury to play through and recovery times are different for everyone. Now, he's getting back to form slowly, which would be expected of any player who's gone through what he's gone through. From my perspective, he's shown nothing but admirable desire to be on the field and contribute, despite some tough breaks (pun intended). The plate discipline issues for both Sano and Buxton are troubling, and have been for a few years. We can only hope they work through those issues as they are healthy and playing regularly. But I wouldn't question the desire or attitudes of either of these players without more information.
  10. It’s also disappointing to get nothing from the veteran core of Dozier, Mauer and Santana. If we had those guys doing what they did last year, we’d be in first place. Just a lot of bad luck so far this year, combined with some poor performances. But I still believe things can turn around for this team.
  11. We should all be getting Rosario jerseys. And the FO should take notice and extend him sooner than later . . . and sooner for later.
  12. Of all the bad luck the Twins have had this year, this is the saddest part of the season by far. I hope Joe feels better soon.
  13. I think the Twins get hot over the next few weeks and both of our Puerto Rican stars get recognized for how they’ve carried this team through a rough patch.
  14. I've got buddies who died face down in the muck so we could enjoy this family establishment!!
  15. You know the Supreme Court has roundly rejected prior restraint.
  16. Dexter Fowler with the Cubs? I think he took less than the QO at the end of the off-season, rather than 3 years with the Orioles.
  17. I feel bad for Brian. He’s not increasing his value on the market.
