  1. Eddie often looks ridiculous at some of the pitches she swings at. Like worse than I'd look if Trevor Bauer told me he was throwing a fast ball down the middle and ended up throwing a curve instead. If he had plate discipline like Arraez he'd prob hit 50 homers and .400. he's got the talent just can't control his aggressive approach to wanting to get a hit off of every pitch thrown.
  2. Last year I was telling my friends I was surprised so many outlets were calling for the Twins to finish second for the division and push for the last wild card slot. But I figured they could have the best offense in franchise history and WIN the division. Like the only time I've ever been right on Twins predictions!

  4. From what I remember hearing the Dodgers were in need of bullpen help last year. I wonder if the Dodgers can't just add a player to the deal headed to Boston and keep Graterol?
  5. I think if Cruz has a year reasonably close to last year....like 80% or more then signing him to a contract like his current one or slightly lower would be good. I certainly hope the Twins have something else in mind for an additional starter. Whether it be trade or signing someone like Walker. I think the Thorpe, Smeltzer and Dobnak can hold it down until Pineda returns but what happened if one of those 3 or the top 3bgo down or are ineffective? I also think Berrios continues to bet on himself and doesn't sign an extension. Unless he receives a really good offer.
  6. Could sign him to a minor league contract with him knowing he'll make the roster once Rich Hill gets placed on the 60 day IL. Then they can at least get him started working with the coaching staff. Worth a shot assuming the Twins feel he's worth the money he's asking for.
  7. I love players that play with fire and emotion. That's why I loved Torii Hunter so much. And although I didn't agree with a lot of his practices, I definitely loved that about Ron Gardenhire.
  8. Twins still need 2 more starters and a 1b or 3rd baseman. Can't believe the Twins not just giving Berrios his $4.4 million and make him happy. Then work towards an extension. Seems silly to make a big deal over $350k for someone you're trying to get an extension done with. I would say there's no chance Donaldson comes to MN. He's just using the Twins to drive up the cost. Like more higher end free agents do. Nice write up!
  9. I certainly didn't expect Donaldson to sign with the Twins. I think free agents like him just use the Twins as a team to drive up the price to places they want to go. However it now appears they won't have signaled any impact free agents. Which is highly disappointing. Especially with the Indians essentially staying the same and the White Sox definitely improved. Also can't imagine there's no regression from the Twins.
  10. I think this was a good signing. I think a safer bet would've been an innings eater like Julio Teheran. I don't necessarily see the negativity behind this signing. The Cole and Strasburg singings will prob be bad ones even for the Yankees and Nationals. Let alone a team like the Twins. Bumgarner didn't wanted to go to AZ. Wheeler wanted to go to Philly. All the other free agents cost a ton more and could ultimately pitch at the same level a healthy Bailey could. The Twins can afford to overpay for players to get them to come to MN if theres a decent chance their upside is similar to that of a guy like Bailey. They also can afford to waaay overpay a player like Cole or Strasburg (real difference makers) just to get them to come here when they don't want to. Not everyone grew up being Twins fans like us. Are used to the weather and the lifestyle that comes with living in this area.
  11. Hopefully with 8 (hopefully) solid bullpen arms there will be less of a need to pitch back to back days. As a few of these guys tended to struggle mightily on the 2nd day.
  12. Way to much to get 1 year of Betts at around $30 million and cry baby, looking to be on the downhill, Price. Almost seems crazy to give up multiple years of Rosario for a 1 year expensive Betts. As good as he is. I wouldnt want Price if all you had to do was take on his contract. Even though it's not money.
  13. Some how need to get him to be more selective at the plate. Which I'm sure has been tried plenty with no obvious success. Also might need a butterfly net out in left to keep him from getting distracted and stay more focused on the game could help him a bit defensively.
  14. I think he'll start the year in the minors, maybe extended spring training, and then get warmed up for a few weeks in Rochester before being promoted to the rotation around mid May. Assuming pitching well and healthy. Not for service clock reasons but to limit his workload.
  15. I think Castro can get 2-3 year deal from a non-contending team. If he wants to play for a contender I think he'll have to settle for a 1-2 year deal and probably take on a 50/50 role (Barring injury) like he had this year at best. If he'll take a one year deal I think he'll stay in Minnesota. Otherwise I'd like to see the Twins spend the money on pitching.
  16. I think they should save the money for pitching. I'd like to see Sano man third base for another season until Lewis is MLB ready. Hopefully he can take over third with Lewis taking over third. If the Twins decide to move on from Cron however and move Sano to first. I'd be happiest with Moustakas. I like him as a player and he wouldn't cost prospects. I think he can also stay healthier than Donaldson.
  17. If the Twins could find a Schoop like 3rd baseman to hold down the fort until June....then cross your fingers and hope Lewis is ready. I wondered the same a few different times during the ALDS on why players were playing so far off the line. Like Sano and Rosario.
  18. I'd have taken Tortuga over Castro as I believe Garver should/will start every game and he brings a better bat off the bench. Also surprised Thorpe didn't make it. I'd rather see another lefty and the question mark Gibson seems to be.
  19. I was surprised they didn't sign him in the off-season. Could've gotten him for a full season and not had to trade for him.
  20. Only pitcher I'd trade multiple high prospects for is Max Scherzer and.....well that's about it. I'd have a hard time giving up Lewis and/or Kiriloff for a pitcher that hasn't shown he can pitch 30+ starts consistently.
  21. I think it's gotta be a trade for Ken Giles and Marcus Stroman. Be nice to have another starter and a stud reliever.
  22. Another low light for me was replacing May with Mejia in game 2. Seemed rather odd.
  23. I think if Kuechel would sign for 3 years and $30 million he'd have been signed by 10+ other teams by now. I'm sure he's asking for more like 3 years and $60-75 million....or more. Which is why he hasn't signed. Hard to take that risk on a guy that has been losing velocity the last few years. I believe it's a similar situation with Kimbrel.
