  1. Congrats to ABW II on becoming the Chattanooga Lookouts Home Run Record Holder in a season. Also a shout out on becoming the first minor leaguer to 100 RBI for the 2nd time in the last 3 years. 29 & 100 - http://www.clipsyndicate.com/video/play/5939315?wpid=10957 … Video of Record of HR
  2. An encouraging thing about ABW & clutch to me is that he has hit 6 grand slams in the 2 previous full seasons and has hit .316 & .600 respectively with the bases loaded in those seasons. Not as clutch this year with the bases loaded, but has shown the ability to make the play late in games when the score is close. The stat line I like most this year in terms of clutch, is the fact that in close game situations & late in games (28 ABs) - [Walker is hitting .429 BA / .500 OBP / 1.036 SLG / & 1.536 OPS] - that includes 6 SO & 5 BB. They actually keep a stat line for those situations. His stat line with runners in scoring position this year is: .295 BA / .330 OBP / .619 SLG / .949 OPS The HR last night in that above video link was a monster blast. Had to be way over 450 feet.
  3. Good to see Harrison back. Nice MiLB article on his 5 rbi performance. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20150712&content_id=136398282&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_l111&sid=l111
  4. Will Walker learn how to hit off speed pitches better in AA than AAA? I'm good with your approach to leaving a guy at a level if you have a plan for getting improved results at that same level in the second half of season. Walker's K/BB rate never improves in the second half so why would you keep utilizing the same teaching tool? Nothing to lose by promoting him. Somebody call Jake Mauer and Tommy Watkins and ask them what they did to get Walker's K rate to drop 10%!
  5. Wickens got hurt Tuesday on fluke play and Harrison went on DL Tuesday with stomach issues. I would rather a pitcher play OF than Mike Gonzales (DH). It happens unfortunately.
  6. The Twins are not going to move anyone until they are sure they are done on the Trade market. The worst thing to do is move someone and have to re shuffle the whole deck because you released someone too early to make room for a traded player. No rush for the Twins. By the trade deadline or right after trades will they make wholesale promotions. No need to make extra moves if you do not have to. IMO
  7. With the leader board being dominated by AA prospects, who can you see being promoted to AAA and who do you see getting sent down or released? Would influx of AA players to AAA increase Rochester's chance of making September playoffs? They are currently in playoff race now. Middle of the pack offensively in international league right now.
  8. What's going on with my Lookouts. Sano, Walker and Kepler seem to be the only players accounting for runs. Pitching has taken a turn for the worse again. Team ERA over 4+ is not good. On another note: Does anyone think upcoming moves are on the way in AA?
  9. Kepler will be a viable option in the OF or 1B. He now leads the Southern League in triples with 7 and has 17 doubles. He hasn't shown much home run power, and might be a faster and younger version of Joe Mauer. Not a bad thing to be labeled with. [22 years old] Walker only gets credit for hitting homers, but he sits second in the Southern League in doubles with 17 as well. Anybody who hits 17 doubles and 18 homers is on my radar as a keeper. That is 37 extra base hits when you add his 2 triples. Dozier leads the MLB with 37 extra base hits. [23 years old] Harrison has fallen off some lately, but don't dismiss his potential and future contributions as well. When he hits it, he hits it hard. [22 years old] We need power in the line up somewhere and I would go with whoever can provide the most without being a total liability defensively. Buxton, Rosario, Walker, Kepler [dangerous group]
  10. I already lost Buxton in Chattanooga. I'm hoping they leave us with Sano, Berrios, Kepler, until at least Mid July. Fun to watch.
  11. ABW II is on fire in June with a .333 batting average, .371 OBP, .737 slugging, 1.108 OPS Those are AAA worthy numbers. No other Lookout has better numbers this month.
