  1. I believe that since you don't have room on your 40-man roster, he would have to be on your minor league reserve list.
  2. According to Rule V rules, a selected player need be active (off the DL) a minimum of only 90 days (approximately three months) in order to remain with the team which drafted him. I would think that Bard and Melotakis would be desirable Rule V picks under those circumstances.
  3. Couldn't a team selecting either Melotakis or Bard replace them temporarily if they had to be on the DL? (see JR Graham 2015) Seems like a perfect situation for a Rule V pick. I think they are ripe to be selected. I can't see Michael using up a position player roster spot for an MLB team.
  4. Melotakis and Bard were the Twins' 3rd and 4th picks in the 2012 draft, after Buxton and Berrios, and ahead of Chargois, Walker, Jones, Duffey and Rogers. IMO those two have higher ceilings than your #4 and #5 picks, Dean and Michael.
  5. Nobody can predict the future with certainty...If he could, he would already be too wealthy to care about such trivial bleep.
  6. The Yankees probably (traditionally?) were more interested in immediate help, rather than prospects.
  7. I know that you disliked Hicks/Murphy trade. What were our other options for upgrading the catchers?
  8. Did you think we were going to make serious bids for Weiters who was almost the only FA catcher available? Every team short a starting catcher would have been at that auction.
  9. You are aware, are you not, that there are still about 140 days until Opening Day. The Twins have their catcher and could conceivably start an outfield of Rosario, Sano, and a FA. (think Yoenis Cespedes, Austin Jackson, Alex Gordon, Jason Heyward or Justin Upton as Hicks replacements) Instead of bidding for Weiters who was almost the only FA catcher available, and keeping Hicks; now they have Murphy to catch and can bid for a FA outfielder. How about Cespedes and Sano in the OF corners and Rosario/Santana in CF until Buxton is ready?
  10. It has already been established that I am crazy and you are not. Good luck to both of us.
  11. Apparently, I am non-responsive to dead give-aways and that I am the "clueless" one in this scenario.
  12. Greinke is a Free agent who would have been a one-month rental and the Dodgers needed him badly. He would already be gone along with Hicks; and Murphy would still be on the Yankees. Find the guy who told you that rumor, and tell him for me that he is clueless.
  13. I have known Hicks personally since he was a 15-yr-old, and you aren't even close! He is calm, quiet, reserved and polite! He is NOT an arrogant diva like "Ocho-Cinquo, TO or the other NFL "Drama Queens"! Calling him an "MLB equivalent of wide receivers" is 100% WRONG! There is NO WAY that you could have met him and gotten that impression!
  14. When you find out that something you have NEVER heard of is famous, you know that you have lost touch!
  15. Look at the teams who may think Plouffe is an upgrade to their current 3B. There aren't very many. Most teams are already happy with their current 3B, and that is one of the reason for the shortage of 3B on the FA list.
  16. The highest EITHER Turner or Garver have ever been ranked in the BA Twins Prospect Handbook is 13th by Turner in 2015Murphy has been ranked as high as 4th in the Yankees list.(18th in 2015)
  17. Don't forget that Santana played EVERY day in 2014, while Murphy played about as much as Hermann played last season. Regular PA's will reveal Murphy's offensive ability (or lack thereof)
  18. I'll bet that Murphy will be the better catcher, but Zuki will get the more PA's because only death can get him out of the game or onto the DL. He is a tough little SOB! He would have been a hockey player, but Hawaii has crappy ice.
