  1. DJ Baxendale most likely played his last game in the Twins org 7 year Minor Leaguer with a 2.9 AAA era even as he was switched back and forth from the bullpen and spot starts 2 time AA All-Star Tana should have seen what they had with a big league opportunity He’ll pitch in the big leagues with some one next year
  2. You failed to mention that the winds were gusting 53 mph out at Frontier Field tu stsrt the game. Routine fly balls were blown all over the field and out of the park Not the best conditions to pitch in
  3. Going to be in trouble tonight out of the pen Essentially have 2 1/4 arms available.... Hildy, Rogers and Duke
  4. We were not wrong just too high of expectations Didn’t expect to win last year, then won Expect to win this year, have not won enough...yet
  5. Why would we want a pitcher that a contending team didn’t want ???? We already proved we didn’t think he was good enough to help us by not protecting him. Why would we take him back now
  6. Hildy and Rogers were equally bad This excuse that they were working on stuff is a joke
  7. Solid outing would have been more appropriate Even if you know nothing about baseball, the number of extra base hits allowed in AAA is alarming I'm a fan of Goncalves, just not going to overhype him
  8. More hits than innings pitched in an outing is NEVER great or impressive You overhype the guy, he's a backend rotation guy at the most....not Sandy Koufax You guys make me sick giving him pitcher of the day every time he pitches; even when it's mediocre at best.
  9. I guess the Twins FO keeps Heston around so his crappy era of 9.25 makes Goncalves era of 4.09 look good. Most guys have stupid good success at the AAA level and can't reproduce those results once they get called up....see Turley + Tonkin. Maybe Goncalves is trying for the opposite.....FYI....that never happens
  10. Even more alarming.... Of the 23 hits he has allowed in 22 AAA innings pitched, 11 of them are for extra bases. So 48% of his hits allowed were for extra bases That is awful no matter how you look at it There are Red Wing pitchers with 40+ IP that have allowed less extra base hits and home runs
  11. Your love affair for Goncalves is clouding your judgement.... You said he outing tonight was outstanding Look deeper into the actual numbers instead of your opinion 1.333 WHIP 7 hits in 6 innings BABIP .437 BA .304 Those numbers do not translate to success at the next level With that many base runners, his luck will soon run out....like in his last start His last start produced: 3.67 WHIP 8 hits in 3 innings BABIP .500 BA .470 Allowed more HR's (3) then strikeouts (1) A GAME SCORE of 1 In AAA he currently has a home run rate of 2.25/9
  12. Baxendale gets demoted with a 2.98 era Second best numbers out of the pen in their last 10 What a joke
  13. 7 of the 9 starters for Toledo have seen Big League time Melville was phenomenal last night As well pitched of a game as I've seen in s long time
  14. Must have been a bad night for Minor League pitchers when a guy gives up 3 er in 5 ip (5.40 era) and he gets pitcher of the day LAUGHABLE
  15. Baxendale's earned run last night should have been unearned The fly ball to right that turned into a Triple was a routine fly ball that was misplayed badly by Goodrum. Even the game story said so. The runner scored on a wild pitch, breaking ball, that Murphy did not try to block
  16. Don't even get me started about Kevin Chapman....he's now blocking Melotakis. Falvine has not impressed me so far They chose Santana and Tonkin to start the year Belisle, Haley .....their guys It's a joke to have a guy with a 8+ era in your pen The new FO must have a big ego because they have let "their" guys fail with no accountability
  17. It's awful that we have other teams trash on our 25 man roster over players that have been in the Twins system that have been successful.... We should be giving guys like Baxendake and Hildenberger opportunities before somebody who has failed in another organization. Bax's numbers are much better as a starter and reliever compared to Wilk and his splits against lefties are also better than the lefthanded Wilk. Not sure WTF our new FO is doing but Tepesch, Haley, Rucinski and Wilk is NOT the answer
  18. This is BUSINESS not baseball. Until the Twins become concerned with putting the best BASEBALL team on the field, we are looking at 75+ loses per season. Park EARNED his spot and was sent to AAA. Looks a lot like last year when guys like Baxendale EARNED promotions but were bypassed by guys like Albers + Dean. This sends an awful message...
