Article: What's Next For Kennys Vargas?
luckylager replied to Tom Froemming's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
One of my favorite Twins players. I am hoping a Japanese contract is in his future, because I am pretty confident that would be his best path at this point. -
Article: Decision On Paul Molitor Looming
luckylager replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Does Molitor deserve another year? I've never been a big fan, but yes, he definitely does. The team does seem to be on his side. I'd like to see what happens with a beefed up bullpen. Short leash, but I'm onboard.- 129 replies

Article: Game Thread: Twins @ Tigers, 8/11@6:10pm CT

I think I'd be happy with an even split of Smalley, Torii and Hawkins in the FSN booth next year. A good, entertaining, informative combo. -

I appreciate the fact that Bartolo Colon spent a portion of his very successful career as a pitcher for the Minnesota Twins. -
Article: Twins Trade Kintzler To Nationals
luckylager replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Long time listener, first time caller, Mr Bonnes. Is there any team in history that has been in the position the Twins are now and "won it all"? And then to say that none of the prospects obtained in these deals will make a difference in their future? I will put my money on at least a couple of the new guys making a dent in the future. The Twins are not a couple of relievers away from a championship. They need at least three dependable starters and the same amount of relief pitching. Beefing up for the future is the right thing to do at this point. -
Article: Twins Trade Kintzler To Nationals
luckylager replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Agree 100% (except the use of the phrase "secret sauce" which I dislike). This trade deadline was a polar opposite to the Terry Ryan era. For the first time in a long time, the Twins were players. They dumped pending free agents and JRM for some seemingly really good upside pitching prospects. I think the player draft was also handled in a much more "big picture"manner. I am very hopeful for the future. I think the team is in a much better place than it was a year ago. Baby steps. -

When Twins become sellers, Escobar likely first to be traded
luckylager commented on GoGonzoJournal's blog entry in Minnesota Foul Play-by-play
Man, I'd hate to see Escobar go. I know that "good clubhouse guy" isn't backed up with any stats, but Edwardo is the poster boy for guys you'd want on your squad.- 13 comments

I like him too. Sounds like the back injury, once healed, will not be a concern. A good candidate to throw some extra money at and pry away from Stanford.- 352 replies

Article: Keith Law On The Twins And The 2017 Draft
luckylager replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
In spite of every argument to the contrary, I am all-in on Hunter Greene. I will be disappointed in any other selection. He has the potential to be amazing. You gotta take a chance on that kind of potential. Sure, the probability is he falls short of the hype. But if the Twins pass and does he becomes a once in a generation talent we'll be kicking ourselves in the a$$ for not taking a shot.- 78 replies

Article: The All-Time Worst Twins: Rondell White

Nobody gets to the majors by accident. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, it just seems so negative to pick apart someone who didn't find success in the big leagues.- 15 replies

Article: The All-Time Worst Twins: Rondell White
luckylager replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Can we stop with these "worst" threads? These are men doing their best, they might have had bad seasons with the Twins, but earnestly worked hard and had comparatively bad results during their stints with the team. It just seems so pointless to try to call them out and talk sh*t about them. So what? Every team has had players that didn't perform/develop as expected. They are all 1%ers that actually made it to a major league roster.- 15 replies

Article: The Independence Day Baseball Blackout
luckylager replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Despite the local media blackout I was finally able to hook into the Oakland telecast; just in time to see my sister and her British friends enjoying the game.
